I've almost accepted Dre lost his touch and the Dre era is finally over. He had a long run though, started in 1986 with "Boyz N The Hood" and ended in 2009 with the Relapse album.
R.I.P Dre era 1986-2009
For some reason I think Dre is in the cut workin on some shit. He's been too quiet. It's been lil hints here & there from his inner circle (Terrace Martin, Xzibit, & Roscoe interviews) but I think he learned his lesson havin everybody & they momma in the mix blurring all the business (speaking about how dope Detox is, it's almost finished, a million & one pictures) which set false expectations from everyone. If he is working then he doing the right thing by keeping his circle tight, staying quiet, and letting the music speak for itself when it's time.

I've gotten a similar impression.  Maybe I'm too much on the Kool-Aid or what have you but my feeling is the reason Dre is dropping very few productions with his name on them is because he's waiting until that formula is right.  Again, this is only a theory but we'll just have to see.

"Relapse" is one of those albums which I appreciate more as time goes by and Em keeps dropping duds...the only thing was the annoying accent at times but Em was definitely spitting over top notch Dre beats

I've always really liked Relapse ever since I first put it in my CD player.  Those Dre beats were sonically amazing and were most likely beats that Dre was going to use for his Detox album around that time period (some of them anyway).
Plus, if you look at it as a sort of concept album, where Eminem is coming from the perspective of a crazed serial killer/rapist, then it works.  Most of his lyrics were top notch and he adapted his flow for each individual beat.
As far as Eminem and Dr. Dre falling out, I don't know how anyone could form this opinion since he's the executive producer on Eminem's new album.

Pretty much.

Working to perfect what would be a $10 album, that would most likely be downloaded and circulated for free anyway? Or utilizing his time correctly to promote $200-300 for 1 pair of headphones, which can't be downloaded? It's a no brainer, and Dre got to where he was for being money hungry, not 'fame' hungry. There will be no money in an album in 2013 at his level.

We may see some 'leaks' or promo vids from a Detox project with it's sound used to promote the headphones, even though other top industry names already do it for him, but apart from that, I think it's time to forget about Dre

and lyrically, he wasnt far out his prime either...duno about top notch dre beats, but they were some of the best beats durin  time period in hip-hop

Sometimes I don't agree with the way people evaluate beats.   Relapse certainly had great beats but if the song doesn't work then what does it matter?

Like Nas for example.  Sometimes less is more.  His "Lost Tapes" album had really simple beats but they made for excellent songs.  Then as a result of people complaining about his beats he went and overdid the production for his "Life Is Good" album and critics applauded it but I wasn't feeling it as much.  I would prefer the simple beats from his unreleased tracks like "Darkness" over the overdone cinematic shit that was on "Life Is Good".

Like Em had more simple beats on Slim Shady LP but it still worked out great for him.

So my point is sometimes the beat can be too much and take away from the lyrics.  Less is more.

i agree, but i dont think the beats on relapse were overly complex..the biggest downfall was the accent, but it still shits on recovery

This, album was unfairly shitted on, and because of this we now have Eminem-Lite consistantly going for pop radio.
