Currently pending physical.
5 years $85 million.
Deal also has vesting option where it could be 6 years $100 million.

I hate this signing. Totally overpaid (McCann will be a DH or 1st baseman for most of this deal, I garauntee it).

Can't hate any left handed signing in this ballpark. Especially considering how weak we were at the position this past year.

Just don't get how the top prospect in our organization is a catcher and they sign one to a potential six year deal.

You gotta over pay to get someone to sign here. Overpaid? Probably but I think the first 2-3 years will be good and right now for the Yankees all I care about is next year.

If Cano leaves it's nice to have some new offense at catcher.

Gary Sanchez is still at least 2 years away from the majors and by the time he's ready to be the Yankees's everyday catcher McCann will probably be too old to catch and he'll be either be moved to 1st (I believe this deal outlasts Teixiera's deal) or DH.

You guys overpaid for sure, but that was roughly the amount of money that most people expected McCann to get anyways. Yanks need to disperse their money on pitching though, a few of their pitchers are becoming free agents and they'll need to fix that. And there's no guarantee Tanaka is coming to the states.

I'm going to miss McCann and the Braves starting up bench clearing brawls every other game though lol.

I'm still disappointed that a Puig vs McCann brawl in the NLCS never happened.

Regarding the Yankees's rotation (which, like the Angels, is dire) I don't see them getting any of their pitchers back. And other than Kuroda (who's probably going to go back to Japan) I don't want them back either (Hughes is an awesome person but he's a terrible pitcher in tiny Yankee Stadium). Because of the Cano and McCann buzz I haven't heard any pitchers get linked to the Yankees (except for Tanaka but he's been linked to a lot of teams) so presumeably anybody could be on their radar. Although they do have some inhouse options in David Phelps, Adam Warren and Vidal Nuno (all number 5 starters at best lol).
Although no matter what their rotation will look like in 2013, I have a feeling that Nova will probably still be their ace.

I think the Yanks will make a move on Ubaldo. It would be nice to land Santana and Garza too, but I doubt it. Outside of that it's very slim pickings on arms other than Tanaka, who would hopefully throw on pinstripes.

Honestly if it isn't one of those four I mentioned, it doesn't matter. Just need CC to be himself and hope Pineda pitches like Bob Gibson.

As for adding hitters, it really isn't that bad of an idea. I mean, I like McCann, I'll always love Ichiro in my lineup and then you need to pray for Cano to resign. Other than that you have to hope A-Rod doesn't get 211 games, hope Jeter isn't on the DL all year, hope Tex comes back strong, hope Soriano plays like he did after he came back to NY this year, Granderson is gone, Wells is the projected DH as of now, Nunez becomes your second basemen if Cano splits.

The Yankees need to beef up in all areas. The only guarantee of production the Yankees have is Cano and him resigning is no guarantee.

Man oh man do so many things have to go right for the Yankees offense in 2014 for them to succeed. Their geriatric cases have to not only stay healthy but also produce and right now that's no garauntee.
*Jeter - Even if he's at 100% health-wise he'll be a decent hitter but will also cost the Yankees way too many runs with his shitty defense (he'll probably spend some time in the DH role).
*Ichiro - He can stay healthy and he's still a good outfielder but at this stage in his career he couldn't hit his way out of a paper bag.
*Soriano - Same old same old, he'll live by the longball and die by the longball. Mostly die.
*Rodriguez - Even if he isn't suspended, he's liable to fall to the DL again. Plus he's a shell of the 40+ HR, 100 RBI guy he once was.
*Teixiera - Another aging player whose skills are steadily declining. Fuck him.
*Wells - We'll be lucky if we even get 1 productive month from him. Fuck him.

Lets face it, even with these dinosaurs the lineup would still basically be Gardner, McCann, Cano (if they resign him), Jeter (because those Yankees homers are crazy) and a bunch of has-beens and nobodies you'd find on the waiver wire in fantasy leagues.
