why? because they're fairweather bandwaggon fans??
Quote from: NIKCC on December 10, 2013, 11:21:09 AMwhy? because they're fairweather bandwaggon fans??The Clippers saw a huge surge in fans when CP3 showed up, but there's always been a consistent base of Clipper fans. Their attendance their first 2 years in Staples was bad, but since then it rose much higher. It stayed consistent at almost 17K until Paul showed up. Since then, they are actually beating the Lakers with an average of just over 19K (Lakers are just under this in that time period). So, no, not bandwagon fans. Just people who like a team.
Is there any way that LA is supposed to be divided geographically in terms of Lakers/Clippers? Most places it would be East and West or some shit but they play in the same damn stadium.
Typical of Laker fans. Always trying to find a way to take the Clippers down. It's funny but Laker fans talk about the Clippers way more than the Clipper fans talk about the Lakers. The Clippers area is more the Westside of L.A., Orange County and down to San Diego. The rest of L.A., San Fernando, San Gabriel & Inland areas are the Lakers spots. Of course there's fans of both all over though, but this is what I've heard as the designated areas for each team.

That's incorrect. I am Clipper fan myself. Since 1993.
What I can tell you is that the Lakers have many more bandwagon fans than the Clippers.
I'm not talking volume. I am talking ratio. I talk to 40-50 people a day. All in Southern California from San Diego to Pasadena. Sports is a constant topic and so often these "Laker" fans know nothing. When I encounter a Clipper fan, sometimes it's bandwagon but many times they're dropping names like Piatkowski, Vaught, Harper, Etc. I know a real Laker fan when they name check someone other than Fisher, Kobe, Pau or Shaq. That happens far less than you may think.
