No,BET's biggest was  The Basement  .  The Basement was the beginning of the downfall of Rap City. Rap City was way better before The Basement . Before The Basement ,rap city used to go to other city's & to the rappers hood . Chris Thomas, Prince Dejour , Joe Clair, & Big Lez were all better host then Big Tigger.

yeah you're right actually, Big Tigger had Nelly come onto the show so that was a big mistake and the reason for BET's downfall

No , that is not even close to being the reason . The basement itself was the big mistake . Nelly had nothing to do with it . BET's downfall was it was bought by Viacom.

The Basement was dope and I bet my account that 99% of this forum would agree, the first post in this thread proves that

Rap City only got weak when they started bringing lames like Nelly on there and when they dropped "The Basement" in 2005, facts.

No,Basement was wack . The Basement was wannabe Yo MTV Raps . I bet 99% if forum did not watch Rap city before the basement like I did . Staying in one place is wack compared to going to other city's & to the rappers hood to interview them . That is how rap city originally started out .  Chris Thomas, Prince Dejour , Joe Clair, & Big Lez were all better host then wack ass Big Tigger. That is just the facts you don't like to hear. you were not old enough to watch original rap city or yo mtv raps so you have no clue what you are talking about . stop bring Nelly in to this hater . He had nothing to do with it.

Rap City might have been at its best back in that time period they went to other hoods but that's also what Yo! did with Fab 5 Freddy so I guess that also made them copycats? The Basement was still dope, nothing was wack about it sonny  8)

Nah he's not dead. I think he meant "rip" in the sense that he's not involved with hip hop anymore or something.

Fab 5 Freddy & YO MTV Raps did it first. So rap city was the copycat. Yes basement was wack & was the  beginning of the end of rap city . During the basement rap city went from 2hrs to 1hr & had some many reruns it was sick . The ratings dropped during the basement era. these are just facts . Rap City should have stayed the way it was . the basement started even playing a lot of wack music.
