Well, as far as Ackley goes 2nd overall pick several years back, was trash to begin last year, got sent down, then came back up and ended up finishing around .250, they're obviously hoping for a breakout year or that he can at least be league average. I don't know what to expect from Hart honestly, but he's supposed to be healthy and is a 30+ home run guy when he has been, so having him play RF/DH is fine by me. There's also Logan Morrison who is probably going to get some time out there, but he's also coming off injury so he's another question mark. Then there's Saunders, great tools but hasn't really put it together, another guy that's gonna sink or swim this season. There's also a few intruiging guys in Abe Almonte and Stefan Romero that are going to be fighting for spots. My thing with Cruz is, low obp, strikes out all the time, he got to hit in that Texas launching pad (compare that to Safe-Co), and he's coming off the juice. He's obviously got a more solid track record than our other guys, but what can you expect from him moving forward, you're obviously not getting shit from him in the field either way. It could work, there's just a lot of red flags for me in putting down money on a guy like that.

Hart can hit for sure but this dude has no knees, and was a horrible fielder even before his injuries. Putting him at anything other than DH sounds disastrous.
I admit I forgot to factor in parks when I mentioned Nelson Cruz though. Safeco is going to be a very rude awakening for a guy who spent his career in Arlington, where even Ian Kinsler hit 30 home runs, twice.
Maybe they can make a trade for an outfielder. Damn I wish Mariners signed their hometown boy Jacoby. Watching him in a Yankee uniform just isn't going to look right.

Point taken about Hart. My point was, was that there are some options with some upside for the outfield outside of Hart, whereas the pitching is a bigger unknown. Last year we were bringing in scrubs off the street like Bonderman and Harang , which was why I would've loved to see Jimenez or to still sign Santana. Walker, Paxton, and Ramirez have a much better shot at making the rotation this year, but I still don't feel great giving off the final three spots to young guys. As far as Ellsbury, I was hoping he would sign here, but I can't say I'm disappointed about the way things turned out in terms of big signings. Whose your team BTW? Good to have another baseball head here.

My team is Dodgers aka the team that will never have to worry about pitching for like the next several years lol. If Chad Billingsley is the same Billingsley that he was before his injury, you guys can have Paul Maholm for free lol. Let's not even get started on our bullpen. We signed like ten more closers this year too.
It's actually annoying that the ONLY players we ever seem to go within the past year are pitchers, meanwhile we don't even seem to be set on a second baseman... Cuban defect Alexander Guerrero seems to be leading the running, but it still hasn't even been confirmed that he's going to start at second for us.
