1 Hit Da Pavement 5.5/10
sounds like a warmup track. are the drum sounds live? rhythm is off

2 Let It Go 6/10
sounds almost improvised. got heart. Like it more despite losing steam 2/3 in. bit over long

3 Faden Away 6/10
lyrics are minimal. i get dat tho. snoop reminds me a bit of Sexual Eruption. groove actually settles in on this one. Why snoop rappin bout T Lee in his verse doe (terrace martins cousin)? lol sounds like snoop didn’t even write it. can't hate doe

4 1Question? 6/10
Steve Arringtons hook is nice. Snoop can’t really pull it off but the vibe is chill

5 Ride 5.5/10
the sounds now in it own lane. props. kurupt is pretty coherent lol. music loses the beat in the middle. last 3rd is a bit painful. shame

6 Do my thang 5.5/10
wtf sounds hella messy to start with. not a nice flow. starts to get in lane when snoops rap starts. sounding a bit like soopafly on this (when he sings). the rappins ok. track is hit and miss.

7 I’ll be there for you 5/5
another weak start. seriously snoop is just too amateurish sounding on these projects. sounds like demo quality or reference at best. snoop sounding like bad karaoke ‘ill be there for you’ lol.

8 systematic 6/10
ok I like this. first real track the has some REAL funk to it. Real shit to feel. also probably the most ‘west coast’ sounding beat (but I ain’t judging the album on preconceptions or taste). Daz flow is more like an old school party record. nice.

Ok first the project has heart and soul. I won’t front its a bit flimsy. some of it sounds live (not usually a bad thing) but unrehearsed, or improvised (not always bad either, in there right hands). Snoop is laid back on this and doesn’t sound like he’s struggling. Its a more ‘real’ project than the lion one. despite the weaker spots it ends on a high and its memorable in terms of feel

album score 6/10

EDIT: missed off the score for track 7

lolwhat.......u just downloaded it, played it on ur computer speakers real quick, and came with a review within an hour. thats not how it works, my boy. u cant critique music like that. play it in the ride a couple times and give it some time to set in. u cant vibe to funk sitting at a desk, playin flappy birds. the production is great and deserves the right system & setting. judgement has no credibility the way u just did it.

The fuck u on son? :D

Listened though my separates system at the chillspot big homie. Does it really take u that long to absorb a project like this? I know if I feel music the instant it goes through me. Plus we're talking a 34 min album Snoop probably recorded in a weekend. Nothing challenging to the listener. No hate! 6/10 is good

sorry bru, but u cant say u haven't heard an album, download it, listen real quick, and come wit a review an hour later...music is circumstantial, that just aint the way 2 do it. especially not wit an album like this, which is based on feelin more than anything. it's just impossible mayn.. do as u will, will, but will urself to a better mindset next time u slap it. this aint a novel, slap this in ya ride wit ya bitch n feel the groove of the funky tunes before u become so quick 2 judge....

i will say this, though...if it's only 1 point under regulate for you, then that aint half bad. but it's much better than what u gave it credit for overall, and a way more cohesive effort than "doggumentary".

i guess the reason ur so gay for me will forever remain a mystery, considerin you're unable to complete a sentence.

doggumentary was cohesive to me in that it felt deliberately eclectic. maybe its not a typical west album in that sense. like a 'patchwork quilt' of sounds and styles. no homo Snoop was doing really well with playing with that fusion of sounds

yeah, a 6 is good. i'm not knocking the album now i've given it a listen back 2 back. def worth a spin
