This is by far Kurupt's best verse in his entire career
« on: March 24, 2014, 02:03:45 PM »
I just don't understand why so many West Coast artist have given away their best material to meaningless compilations that NO ONE has even heard. Almost as bad as Crooked I giving away "Str8 Boss" while trying to promote "New West Anthem". I wonder if Kurupt even remembers this?

(You ain't nothin, you'll never be nothin
You'll grow up to be nothin) - yeah right
Money and my appetite, growth and sight
10 till midnight, follow in the trails of life
What's next? War, complex situations
Variations of different obstacles we facin
Or so it seems, I'm kicked out, I'm only 18
Lifes a scheme, money and cavi, or a dream
Any hesitation, money motivation
Secure your situation keep racin and paper chasin
I'm a far ways from home, but I'ma do it on my own
In my own zone (wrong or right) right or wrong
Who put me in a position to live a lie?
I'd been better off unborn now I'm caught in the storm
Rainin hail, I'm thinkin "how can i excel"?
I'm on empty, where's the postman with my mail
(No ones comin to your rescue though
Its just you all alone, nigga you know)
I'd rather die tryin, murder rates multiplyin
By minutes the more that try to get in it the more dyin
Once I had 5 single 1's to my name
And once I had 5 seperate heats to aim
I learned game...stayed to myself and stayed true
And that don't require hurtin me or hurtin you
I'm amped...head to the country for 3 notes
A buck 50 and stamps then hit the camp
HOwever it came and I ain't have to sell cain
I maintain through the lil twist and turns in the game
Found a healthy ---------- with the wealthy touch
Wise with open eyes, you'll never learn too much
Keep your sights on another planet
Even though theres some out there that crack dreams like grannit
But don't can it

Damn.. nice joint, nice thread...

See, had you not posted this I would of never known or heard about it.  This is the problem.  A rapper like Kurupt or Crooked I really needs someone like Dre over their heads.  Someone like Dr. Dre would of made sure that all their throwaway verses would get scrapped, and that only their best work would see the light of day.

You can best believe that the stuff that came out for Kurupt when Dre was on Death Row was his best.  He was even questioned about how he was able to make everything FIRE in those days, and he said that they wrote plenty of wack rhymes they just never got put out and never saw the light of the day.

Kurupt's career has been totally mismanaged since he left Death Row and like a lot of rappers he's unable to manage his quality on his own.

....Royce 5'9" is another great example of wasting great rhymes and concepts on songs that never come out, and then promoting material of his that is sub-par.

Here's the remix of "Who Ride Wit Us" in 320kbps, from Kurupt's Greatest Hits album.

That is a nice verse, unfortunately the cheap sounding beat and annoying "keep trying" chorus take a lot away from it for me though.

Pretty much every rhyme on Dogg Food is dope..

Stranded on DR is one of my favs.

His verse on "Goldrush" from Doggfather was good plus a lot of his guest spots like on Hi-tek compilation.

No this is the retail version.  Can you post up the Against The Grain with the dis-tracks?  I lost that one.  It's a piece of DPG history.
