Unless the Lakers plan on trading Kobe and Gasol, I doubt D'Antoni is coaching the Lakers next season. The article was on point about his advantage being gone since people picked up on his system. I'd go one step further and say his inabilities as a coach are because of his limited knowledge of anything outside of this system.

I think the whole Buss family gets removed at that point.

D'Antoni's relationship with Kobe is tarnished after Kobe made it public that he wanted Phil Jackson in Lakertown, so what the fuck is the point of re-signing Kobe to that fat ass deal if you're going to keep a coach who makes him and the rest of the players disgruntled? Jordan Hill just came out today and said he wouldn't even re-sign if D'Antoni is still there. Gasol is for sure a goner if D'Antoni is there.

The only person who ever enjoyed playing for him was Steve Nash, who played all of what, 30 games in his entire career with us?

But it's the way it's ending... the controversy around being injured and not playing but still collecting nearly $50 million for two years while the team has its worst record in over 50 years.  It's not all Kobe's fault, but the outcome of the team is how they'll remember his career coming to a close.
