I think Yanks should target him.

Again, the Yankees don't have the prospects to get anybody above average (they're relying on Alfredo Aceves for fuck's sake!). Dayton Moore might be easy, but he'd have to be a complete retard to give Shields to the Yankees for nothing. Especially if other teams can (and will) offer them far better returns.

Then there's also Cliff Lee, but I don't see Philly giving him up.

Ruben Amaro actually is a retard so Cliff Lee won't be going anywhere unless the Phillies were to get a Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, Byron Buxton or Oscar Tavaras in exchange.

Looks like Samardzija went the distance today and pitched 9 innings of 1 run ball and even got the first hit for the Cubs (in the 6th inning) today, only to finish the day with a no decision. #GoCubs

lmao. God, spending your prime years on the Cubs right about now must be awful.

I'd be down to give up Zach Lee for him, considering I think Zach Lee's ceiling is Samardzija level anyways (by far our most overrated prospect, people try to protect him like he's Kershaw) and Dodgers are dicks and won't call him up for another 3 or so years, at which point there's no guarantee we'd even be in a title hunt anymore. I'm sure Cubs might be able to do better, but hopefully they don't know that.

Jeff Samardzija with another 0 run game yet still winless. ERA lies at 1.45.

His winless streak is now one of the most exciting thing about the Cubs for this season.

I wonder which'll happen first, Samardzija earning another win or the Cubs winning the World Series.

Another good game for Samardzija, and another LOSS. ERA is now 1.62.

I talked about this on the Da-Sauce already but Lee just got put on the 15-day DL. The Phillies were fucked to begin with and this pretty much cements their 3rd place finish. So does Lee still get traded or not?

Came in here just to post this, lmao. This truly is making Cubs a must-watch team when Jeff is pitching. Pitched 7 scoreless today, ERA is at 1.46.

Damn, before today's game dude was 0-4 with a 1.46 ERA, didn't realize it was that bad. Reminds me of Felix that year he won the cy young, but at least he ended going 14-13 or something.

Yeah it took Samardzija 11 games to get a win. Felix's record during his CY Young year might not have been impressive, but I think it's safe to say Samarzija would kill for his run support lol.

Forgot to keep this topic updated. He gave up 8 runs in 3 innings in a loss to the Brewers, his ERA (which was once the best in the MLB) went from 1.68 to a respectable 2.54.

He finally got his win last week and now it's just downhill from here.  8)
