What NEW DJ Quik album should look like
« on: May 14, 2014, 08:23:49 AM »
Rather than this new questionable album, which will see 1-2 solid songs, with 3-4 good and the rest filler. Quik's more recent efforts have had his fans doubting his latest releases, from the 'music' to the replay value. Although there's no question of his talent, fans are beginning to lose a certain level of confidence. It's about time for a "lost tapes".

A pure double album consisting of unreleased, rare and widely unknown B-Sides, comprising of music from the period of his most prolific signature sound. The period of 1994 - 1999, all released in flawless quality

How is putting out two discs worth of old songs from almost twenty years ago supposed to make fans regain confidence in the man's talent?  How about we let one of the greatest producers in hip-hop decide what he wants to do with his own album and all the know-it-alls on the Internet can revert back twenty years ago when they listened to music for fun and didn't try to analyze it for the purposes of acting like they are executives at a record company?

It's not (directly at least), but it would be nice to reward a loyal fan base who have paid for things such as the "fixxers" album, and other trash over the years. It would also help reintroduce the importance of DJ Quik and why he was supported so strongly in the past. Quik hasn't put out a solid album in almost 15 years, but we all know he's got it in him to put one out. Gems in the current releases are evident of that, but I'm tired now of paying for sloppy releases. I see the purpose of wanting to experiment and cater to current fan bases to get paid, but producers and artists alike are throwing their legacy's down the drain IMO

Hey V2DHeart, how many of the songs that you listed have actually leaked to the public in any quality? I own a few of them, but I don't have and can't find a lot of the tracks you mentioned. Are these rare tracks that you have in poor quality or are they merely tracks that are rumored to exist?
