The Game Signs New Deal With eOne Records
After a fruitful run with Interscope Records, The Game will be joining at indie label eOne.

The Game announced his first album with eOne, Blood Money La Familia hits shelves September 16th. This month he will release two singles off the album “Or Nah” and “Bigger than Me”.

eOne records is highly regarded as one of the most successful independent record labels in the United States, and is responsible for having churned the most Billboard hits in independent history.

In a press release, president of eOne Alan Grunblatt praised the Game/eOne union, stating “Game makes music people care about. I’m looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship between him, Cash Jones and eOne.”

The Game predicts nothing but success on the upcoming project, stating “Blood Money La Familia will be another #1 album”

So he is not with Cashmoney Millionaires?
No.  He also didn't retire after LAX, in case anyone is keeping score.

Actually, he was supposed to retire if Doctor's Advocate didn't go platinum its first week, so even before LAX.

Correct.

50 must be laughin' at Game right now. I guess Cash Money wasn't willin' to give Game what he wanted.

Either that or this is just a one album deal or so to hold over until the paperwork with CMC is finalized. He did say that he was kicking around the idea of wanting to be indie. Be careful what you wish for lol. Nah I think as along as he puts some marketing dollars behind the projects he will be fine.

I think it's all in how you look at it.  Game tends to come from that 50 Cent model where the business often outweighs any artistic significance.  Not necessarily a bad thing but I think in most cases, the fans only care about numbers for so long.  I was watching this real interesting interview with Cormega where he was mentioning his favorite artists growing up and how he had no clue what his favorite albums' chart positions were or what they sold.

I think many of today's artists are too wrapped up in having strong sales figures on the first week and not enough on making music that will resonate for a long time with the audience.  Having a #1 album is cool for bragging rights and to show the money guys you can sell but it shouldn't be the be all, end all for any artist and sadly, it has become that for a lot of them.

Game's best albums were ironically the ones that went to #1 and sold the most units lol
