I have doubts of it even dropping or being close to the level of The Documentary but we'll see

it's usually never a good sign if a rapper drops a sequel a decade later after he fell off

I am just so tired of the classic album sequel trend.  Few have ever really pulled it off effectively.

exactly. no dre no bueno, just call it something else. without dre i'm doubtful whether he could make something similar in tone to the original, let alone get close to it's quality. not that i'm a huge fan but it's by far his best material purely on the production. DA was a great follow up though, if he could get close to that it'd be solid.

This looks like a good move for the most part. Here's how I see this.

Use the album on E One as like a mixtape then use that as leverage to get a deal for the Doc 2 while at the same time using it as promo for Doc 2. While most rappers give away material like this leading up to the album, he will get paid.

It's not uncommon for big named artist to sign smaller artist as a added bonus when approaching labels. So instead of Game going to a label with just an idea, he will have the album on E One as a gauge of how well the Doc 2 could do, the new label can ride the wave of promo that E One just paid for and he will also have other artist he can use to negotiate a deal but they are really just pawns. Look at how T.I. surrounded himself with all of those Rich Gang artist before trying to get a deal. Instead of signing as a artist you sign a label or imprint deal which means more money and then you keep the money you are suppose to use for the artist under you. I would say the Terror Squad deal with Fat Joe is another example of this. Best case scenario at least one of the artist under you actually pop off.

The only problem is if it's the guys that he had when he was on the West Wood freestyle where he dissed Suge. They were his goons and they simply couldn't rap. That's cool but that won't help his album on E One to do numbers. He would really need the album on E On to do well for something like this to work.

At the end of the day it's a good marketing tacit to do a ten year anniversary of the Doc. That alone will draw interest in it no matter if Dre's apart of it or not.

I think Apple pretty much assured we won't hear from Dre musically again unless its for Beats Audio commercials.

I only know of two artists:  Skeme, and Sean Kompton.  If Game plays this right, I can really see this working out for him and his new label.

This should be interesting but I don't want to hear a Documentary 2.  I want to hear the NWA album that he was planning on dropping.  This is just merely for promotional purposes.

I was just about to ask if Skeme was down with Blood Money

good move I guess but best of luck to him, he might have been better off by himself

Stillmatic, Marshall matters LP2, comes to mind, both great albums.
