Can somebody here explain the meaning of these lyrics from DJ Quik - Status?

"Dr. Dre, you right. Snoopy, you wrong, hogg
Take it back to the beginning and keep it gangsta y'all
______, you owe niggaz an apology
For stealin Mausberg's shit
That's how it is, how it's gotta be"

Two questions:

1. What is the issue Quik's referring to, where Dre is right and Snoop is wrong?

2. Whose name is bleeped out as the stealer of Mausberg's shit?

I never knew that. In the track "U Ain't Fresh," Kam disses Dre for biting Mausberg: "Yelling which side is the realest, who you stealin from, Mausberg."

This accusation seems dubious to me. Were Dre and Cube really listening to Mausberg and thinking "I'm going to copy that phrase of his?". I doubt it. People have been calling themselves the realest for decades. I think Quik was just so bitter after Mausberg's death that he wanted to take his frustrations out on people.

I think he said "Snoopy, you raw hog" not wrong....and I think he could've been dissin Tha Realest and not Ice Cube but I'm not sure.

That would be weird for Quik to diss Tha Realest. As far as I'm aware, Quik has never spoken about Tha Realest in any interviews or on any records. It would seem like they never knew each other and their paths never crossed.

Only possible connection I see between them is that Quik produced Top Dogg's "We Don't Love Em" on Chronic 2001.

Mausberg spoke on it on with Julio g on west side radio years ago, there is also some subliminals thrown on the track "shut up" where Mausberg makes some accusations if you want more info

Yeah Quik confirmed in an interview he was talking about Cube on that line. Glad to see they squashed it.

Mausberg spoke about Ice Cube on Julio G? Does anyone have this recorded? It would be dope to hear Mausberg speaking on this subject.
