Any word on the soundtrack for the NWA film?
« on: June 19, 2014, 05:05:18 PM »
If Dre has any bangers left in his Detox stash, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up on the NWA soundtrack in one form or another.  This soundtrack should be incredible, no matter how it comes out.  I would even be happy to see two soundtracks released like they did for 8 Mile.  One that is "music from the movie" and the other a soundtrack of new music.

It's gonna be release with well known track, maybe with 1 bonus shit from Lil Eazy, E3 and son of Dre.

In a perfect world, we'd get that but I'm holding out little hope that Dre is putting out that much music that quickly.  At best, I would say it would be like something "Notorious" where it is mostly classic catalog with a few new tracks thrown in.  I think given how little Dre has produced since 2009 or so, we might get 1 or 2 new tracks if we are really lucky.

Only 1 or 2 new tracks from Dre would not be a letdown but that would actually be the norm.  Look at past soundtracks he's contributed to, Murder Was The Case he really only worked on the Sam Sneed joint, the Cube joint, and the lead single with Snoop.   Then they did the Wash and he worked on a couple joints with Snoop and the Knocturnal joint and that was about it.

So even if it's a couple joints I am happy.  I hope he is overseeing the project as well in some role, so even if he doesn't produce it's up to his standard.

...anyone heard anything about the Score to the movie?   The Score could be incredible on this one.

I hope the film contains a lot of great music from that era.  For the soundtrack, you might be lucky to get one Eazy unreleased joint they mix down.

There is no more unreleased songs from Eazy, Yella has one - which is a diss and not going to put this out.
