Yankees trade Vidal Nuno for Arizona's Brandon McCarthy
« on: July 06, 2014, 02:40:00 PM »
Typical bad pitcher for bad pitcher "change of scenery" trade, but McCarthy killed it in Oakland a few years back. And despite McCarthy's bad ERA, advanced stats paint him in a very positive light. Good move for Yanks IMO.

Nuno is a bum...at least in the AL, against real hitters.

if the Diamondbacks don't start him against the Dodgers he'll be okay lol

Word the only thing Nuno had going for him was that he was a lefty, which made him unique to Yankees' now all right-handed rotation.

Yeah, that was the only reason Nuno had a job and the Yankees gave him so many chances. That plus how the Yankees are allergic to giving chances to new faces like Pat Venditte (who can pitch with both arms), Jeremy Bleich, Nik Turley and a few other semi-MLB guys worth giving a shot. It took them this fucking long to get rid of Alfonso Soriano for fucks sake.
