only reason this sold anything was cause people was mislead in thinking 2pac was alive and had new songs
Quote from: HighEyeCue on August 02, 2014, 11:23:04 AMit was never certified...it only had to sell 250k to go gold since it was a double album so I assume it did at least thatWell, technically they don't need to have been sold, only ordered and shipped by retail outlets, and the record company would have had to put up the certification fee to the RIAA in order to get them to actually count units shipped and then certify it whatever it is. So any albums still sitting on shelves count are counted toward the RIAAs certification numbers, while SoundScan actually tracks the over-the-counter purchases.

Yeah, it's actually been 15 years since Death Row updated their sales. But with 2-3 re-releases for many of their albums, I'm sure most of those albums are at least double their official totals. Like I have a hard time believing the Chronic is below 6 million and Doggystyle at 8 million. All Eyez On Me was stuck at 9 million for 15 years, now it finally goes diamond yesterday.http://thesource.com/2014/08/01/2pacs-all-eyez-on-me-achieves-diamond-status/

If u dont have anything to say just shut up.
I got somewhere a list of potential sales for every Death Row release - need to find it and take a look but as far as I remember, Daz sold around 317k in the US and over 500k worldwide. Lady Of Rage sold around 300k in the US - don't how the numbers worldwide tho.
Yep Snoop in some interview mentioned that Daz sold 350k of RRAGB.

Those were the good old days when the retailers would pay $10 per cd that the industry only spent $1 to manufacture and the consumers would run out to buy the new technology that replaced the cassette tape for upwards of $20.

Is there a reliable source for that, I heard pretty much every number from 4 to 6 million and everything in between for Doggystyle, somewhere i even read something like 8 million or some. Fuckin confusing.

Yeah, I don't think the re-releases were put in the official numbers. It might be that the re-releases of the late-90's and laters are counted as something else. These numbers are shipped disc, so if Death Row stopped shipping the original pressings and started over with re-releases it's possible that the re-releases are counted separately. Plus I wonder what the digital sales are now?
