Nas Mentions New Album
« on: April 03, 2003, 12:34:49 PM »
found this over at SOHH and they said they found it at some Nas Board

So I was listening to the radio last night and the DJ says Nas is gonna call in. Hes supposed to be cool with Nas or something. About a hour and a half later he calls, late as usual. The DJ asked him what made him do "I Can". He said he felt like the kids weren't getting any positive messages these days...they need to know that they can get out the gutters and do something with their lives if they really want to...he did it, Oprah did it, you can do it.

So then he asked him what he thought about the 50 Cent explosion. Nas said it was bound to happen...hes a talented dude. He got the right people behind him so now he's doing his thing,

So then he says...you and Jay Z were name two of the most hated in New York. What do you think about that? Nas is like "I don't think about that...its ridiculas"....
Of course there was the obvious question...whats the chance of Nas and Jay working together...on something like a charity project...To avoid the question, Nas says "I dont know you tell me" and they laugh.

Then he asked how Kelis was doing, Nas said "she's good".

Finally he asked Nas when we could expect the next album. Nas said he wasn't sure...late this year or early next year..."you know how it goes". He asked if he had any plans for it...Nas said he was thinking about doing a few collabos with some artist he always wanted to work with but never got around to it. The DJ presses him and says "like who"...Nas says he and Snoop are definitly doing something, and probably Busta, Ice Cube and Rakim. The DJ says "I gotta tell you man, after hearing "The Cross" I would love to see you and Eminem on a track...whats that looking like? Nas says "that could happen man"...whatever comes up, Ima just have fun with it."

They sum it up talking about the Bravehearts album, what you can expect and all that and then he plays "Situations".

Thats about it.

I wish he would have mentioned something about The Lost Tapes 2.

He shouldn't even have guest spots on his albums, they just aren't needed.  He's an emcee that's better alone and can handle a whole album by himself.

But would like to hear a Rakim/Nas track, that would be dope.  Cube too, but no Busta or Snoop on there.

nas snoop-  whack
nas busta-  whack
nas cube-  whack
nas ra-  undecided

As far as the Nas/Em song, if Em doesn't produce it and Alchemist does it should be tight, I don't like "The Cross" from God's Son album I thought Nas' style didnt mix well with Em produced beat

The wackest of collaborations would have to be the Snoop and Busta ones cause you can just see them joints being commerically minded bollocks.

Nas and Rakim would be a classic, especially if they got Premo to lace them with a beat, shit would be off tha chain.

Nas and Cube would be dope over a bomb squad style beat.

Nas and Eminem could be dope, it depends what direction the track went in.
