I would say more of westcoast version of KRS ONE than RAKIM . Kam is more of a teacher like KRS ONE .

Cool song, Mietek.  Never heard it before.  Thanks for the drop.  Don't know if the song would have fit on the album; sounds a little mellow for the tone of Made of America.

I really like the album but the track sequencing is a little dodgy in spots.  I think Trust Nobody is a great song, but it's not the greatest album starter; Pull Your Hoe Card would have been perfect.  Later, he has Who Ridin and Keep Tha Peace back to back -- WTF?  Cognitive dissonance right there.  I also think that while the production is awesome and some of my favorite G-Funk, it's a little too bright and mainstream for a militant artist like Kam who belongs to the underground.  It's clear listening to the album that he was trying to garner commercial success, which, again, seems contradictory to Kam's whole steez of fight the power.

Just imo.
"Detox" is a myth -- Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, Area 51, Iraq having WMD, Detox...you get it now?  It was invented by the Aftermath marketing department to maintain the fans' attention.  Notice how everytime a new Aftermath album is ready to come out, they always mention Detox is next up?  Because they are using the invention of "Detox" as a way to market other albums.  The sooner you realize that Detox is NOT REAL, the sooner you'll feel liberated.  Oh yeah, f.u. Aftermath for fooling us fans.

Dope album. It was on a weird label, East-West. Production was tight. Cube got dissed. Good features. Majorly slept on along with Threat's Sikindahead and BG Knocc Out and Dresta's Real Brothas.

I bought the album based off this thread.  It's a banging album from start to finish and has some of the best g-funk material of any album during that time period.  Kam has a commanding voice, which, being Ice Cube's cousin, isn't surprising.
The beat to 'Keep The Peace' might be Warren G's best  8)
