Story behind 2Pac's "Late Night" (Prod. DJ Quik)

Always loved this smooth beat….

seems that the original beat was from an unreleased 2nd II None album called "The Shit" from 1994. Due to label issues, the record was held back. It was supposed to be distributed by Death Row - exec. producer Suge Knight. the latter let Pac pick and choose beats from the record, and "lets get Higher" then turned into Late Night...
Original 2nd II None track;

this is in my top 10 songs of all time.  I prefer the Outlaw version but both are awesome.

Also, the OG Demo of "Heartz Of Man" was supposedly recorded using Suga Free's "Why U Bullshittin" instrumental but 'Pac didn't like it and picked up another 2nd II None beat that ended up being the retail one :)

Arguably my favorite unreleased PAC track

It was released on "Chronic 2000" and "Better Dayz".

DJ Quik is the only able to make two classic records with the same sample...

Let's Get Higher x Late Night
Heartz of Man x Why U Bullshitin
Keep Tha "P" In It x Nuthin' Has Changed (2nd II None)
Mo Pussy x Didn't Mean To Turn You On

SIDE NOTE: 2nd II None posse cut "Got A Nu Woman" have the same beat of Top Dog "We Don't Love 'Em" but with less synthesizers.

The PAC-AMG-QUIK version is the better..more synthesizers

AMG verse with that  :firedevil:
