How important is a hook in a song for you?

I can digg songs without a hook but then it really needs to have heavy production & stronge raps...

To me, the hook is the least important part of a song in Hip-Hop...

but a bad hook can ruin a song...

one example of a hook that nearly kills the song is IV Life's 'Haterade Remix' ... only because the beat is so damn tight do I not skip it.. and sometimes I still do
