Well a few things 1.mausberg died at 21 years old so depending on when it was recorded the dude didn't really have that much time to mature as an artist especially being his first and only release 2.theres plenty of songs or whole albums carried by quiks production Non-fiction is incredible from a production stand point one of the only albums where quik balanced his classic and experimental approaches to producing also classic 220 or anything by 2nd to none really, the only mainstay to really due the beats justice is obviously suga free 3.mausberg isn't a lyrical rapper or anything like a drug dealer or a pimp he's just telling his life on wax he was a young cat from Compton...the songs like "mushrooms" or "ring king" are testaments to that he was just being real on his joints and that's what made it special he wasn't trying to be anyone but him,and was he a subpar rapper ? Yeah but he was always the realest and quik produced tracks that would compensate for his lack of lyrical ability 4. Quik always saved the best for his dudes his production on his solo albums might've been good but he always went all out to support his friends that's how he is classic examples would be Do it by Hi-C or I can feel that by mausberg

To me, that is the quintessential Quik beat. And on that song, Mausberg came correct, so did Hi-C and AMG.

Oh you know...that's why I joined this forum, dudes out here don't understand the gems that are hidden like that...quik has been my favorite artist since I was 16 and I've steady bumped his music since...but when I heard "I can feel that" I was in awe and have even told my closest friends and my girl to play it at my funeral haha from the prouction to the scratches of "it's alright" and the talkbox you have not only one of quiks best beats but one of the best beats I've ever heard...that's just my opinion tho...I think it goes 1. I can feel that- Mausberg 2.do it - hi-c 3.we still party - dj quik 4.tip toe- suga free 5.i wanna see- hi-c and quik6.nobody- Dj quik That's his top 6 dopest beats IMO out of a catalog where anyone of his tracks can be thrown in there that's why I splurged for a 6th haha fact of the matter his production has carried most of his or his camps work and only 1 of the songs listed is a solo
