You can have the best produced song in the world ever...but that still doesnt mean its a good song

Dear Mama annihilates Rap God as a piece of art.

I'll take 6 minutes of vocal gymnastics over a slow soul jam any day.  Personal preference.

i think its funny when people call 2001 classic or masterpiece ... chronic and NWA albums were classics not 2001
2001 was mainstream for the white teens ( no disrespect for the white teens  ;D ) eminem type fans in the world
i remember when 2001 was released , the real dre fan, 'the niggaz in the park'   didnt like it that much ..

fav songs ; deep waters, just another day and talking to my diary .. good and fresh album !

I played this on my computer and thought it was terrible. I mp3'd it up in the car and it is pure greatness.

I'm still blown away by how good this is. Not one filler. Every beat is incredible. Dre couldn't have given us a better product.

Only thing that is kind of sad & the verse was solid but it's crazy the worst part (something has to rank as "the worst") of the album was Eminem's verse. This was like Dre's farewell in terms of putting together an album, he should of came stronger.

Eminem hasn't come strong since Run Rabbit but I wouldn't go so far as saying it's the worst rap on the album. People just expect more from Em because he's eminem.

Exactly, the standard rises. Especially for Dr. Dre's last album. Just came up short for me.

Again, it was good, I was happy with the song. Calling something "the worst" has such a negative connotation; but I don't mean it in a condescending way.

I don't understand why people are hating on 'talk about it'. It's one of the best records on the album. This album is not about creating gfunk. Not even chronic 2001 was gfunk. It's totally ok for west coast music to evolve, just like other areas of hip hop evolves as well.

Listen again to talk about it, but without prejudice. It's a trap beat on steroids, with dre totally controlling the chorus.

I've not been keeping up with what's been going on with Dre/Detox for years now so it may be that my expectations were muted but I think this is a really good record. Scrapping Detox was probably the smartest thing Dre could do because that record was never living up to the high expectations people had for it, even if it was just scrapped nominally it must have felt like a burden had been lifted. When I heard the news about this new album I thought to myself that I would be pleasantly surprised if it was even halfway decent and I think it certainly exceeds that. I honestly don't think Dre could have put out a record much better, after about 30 years making music this album is no mean feat.

It may not be an all time great but it is at its least good and getting better with each subsequent listen.
