CDs sctratch WAY too easily these days

my threory its the big companies making shoddy cds so people buy them again or some shit my paid the cost to be the boss cd has two songs that i can't play any more 9 and 10 its frickin gay i only baught it like 3 or 4 months ago and i havn't played any cds for like 2 months, cos of east hols (goin back home 4 3 weeks) and having my dvd player downstairs for ages, so were looking at like 2 months of play max. i have this problem with lots of other cds but not some others, my 2001 has rarely sat in its case its always been lying about somewhere or being played so its been put thru alot compared to most of my cds yet it still plays fine without a scip so it can be done also if you feal round the edges its got a nice smooth rounded edge unlike to sgarp one on the majority another indication its a better quality cd.  does anyone know any facts to back up my theory? or does any1 else have the same problem and don't start saying its my laser cos i know its not its the cds.

on point do what i do make a copy of every one on a good disc  or get a carry case and put all your cds in there then they dont get scratched.

most of my cds scratch easy too.  I take very good care of them but as you said on paid the cost I got the song with the drematics on that don't work.  Its gay.

um maybe i don't keep them in cases i have them piled up but i still don't think they should get sctratched so easily its not like i keep a sheet of sandpaper between each cd

i buy a CD... i rip it to mp3 if i didnt dld it before it came out... if i want it in the car i burn it... if i didnt already from the mp3s...

it sits on the shelf collecting dust, might get rare play on the home system... ummm do we need cd's anymore?

well i have would like to back up all my cds to mp3 but i only have 300mg till i get a second hardrive 20 gigs no where near meets 2days needs,  my other option would be to make a copy of a cd rite after i buy it but thats a whole lot of hassle i have enough blank cds and i can rarely be bothered to label them and when i can i find i don't have any perminant markers so i can't, currently i have about 20 or cds which i have no way of differentiating them with out playin each one till i find the one i want.  

anyway what is the point of pay £10 or whatever for a cd that you need to back up as soon as you get it? if all i'm going to be doing is playing a blank cd it just encourages me more to download the album and not pay for it, then as long as i keep the mp3s i can knock out as many perfect copies as i want.  for an industry thats so against bootlegging they should be taking steps to stop the train of thaught.

i really do believe record companies are pressing up poor quality cds to cut cost and raise the profits for the fat cats.

i have like 40 cds in my car, and 30 of them are scratched up, it is nobodys fault but mine, because most donnt have a case, and i throw them around

My first 2001-disc started bugging after half a year.

Btw, if your PTCTBTB doesn't work, it's not much of a loss anways..

if you put your cds out layin around,and you happen to put it data side down,and you slid it across the table desk or whatever,if anything is under it,it will scratch th eshit out of it

same thing if you put em in sleeves and there junk in the sleeve ( i found that out the hard way with a windows 98 disk that had never been opened lol)

however how do u guys treat your cd's, yeah cd's get scratches but they are minor unless u puncture them or drop em. I got like 400 cd's and less than half of them got scratches, in fact only one of my cd's skips. on Above the Law Legends cd the last song skips and whats even more fucked up is the fact that it doesnt have one single visible scratch

It really depends on how good your CD player is...If your CD players sucks, it'll pick up every little scratch...On the other hand, if you have a good CD player, it won't pick up on the scratches...Haven't any of ya'll noticed this?

ok then another example my regulate cd which i have had since 94 plays totally fine however u wouldn't believe if u saw how many scratches on it plus it hasn't had its case for about 5 years. with cds these days u get a minor scratch n its starts fuckin up
