R.A.K.I.M & Don't Get Carried Away (Busta & Nas)

If the R.A.K.I.M beat on the 8 Mile OST sounded like Don't Get Carried Away (by Busta Rhymes & Nas), both use the same sample (Doctor Who Theme) one's produced by Kon Artis and the other Dr. Dre, would that have helped the hype behind Rakim and help get his LP released?

I remember a lot of people at the time were put off by the Kon Artis production, but Dre's version is a monster.
