i say...

1. Dre...for obvious reasons
2. Quik...once again it's obvious
3. Quik...Quik can change his styles much more easily than Dre can...plus guys and girls feel Quik when he talks about the pussy, Dre comes off sounding fierce, like he's going to just take the pussy
4. Quik...Quik's never flopped on the R & B tip he's done shit for Mariah, to Janet, Tony Toni Tone....and a whole shit more, Dre has fucked up with Michelle and Truth Hurts...but did help Mary J

Dre all the way.  People underestimate him (lol) in that they don't know WHY he's as great as he is.  Dre's great at what he does, and people that play instruments or know anything about the music industry know that he's god.  Quik is great, and very talented, but he's not #1 in any of those 4 categories you mentioned.  Peace~

4. Who would have more success as a producer if they left the rap game?...Dre easily, Quik can't even really make noise in the rap game outside the state of California

I was about to say this, too... Quik can't even get successful in rap, much less successful outside rap.

With the exeption of some of Mel-Low's posts this might be the dumbest thing iver ever read on this board. Take your head out of Dres ass for a minute and use your brain. Just cause one name is bigger than the other doesnt mean one will sell more.

Example:
Truth Hurts - Dre produced some songs for her and her record didnt sell for shit.
Tony Toni Tone - Quik produced some songs for them and they are a famous R&B group(not that Quik made them famous but "Lets get down" was succusful wasnt it?)

People dont wanna hear some orcastra type hard ass bass loop beats with smooth singing over it. They wanna hear funky, up tempo party beats and soft jazzy slower beats with smooth singing over it. Quik can do that. Dre oviously can't.

Oh and for the rest of the questions, I think Quik is more diverse. Thats why I like him better. Also with all the "rumars" about Dres ghost producing I dont know how to compare their styles. Im not sure which beats actually are Dre's.

That is a personal opinion on how you judge sucess.  I sure as fuckin hell don't judge sucess by how many sales an artist gets, or by how many people hear of him.  A lot of time that has nothing to do with the talent of the artist.  Hell The Twinz album Conversation probably hasn't even sold close to 200,000 copies, yet I am sure ja rule has had an album or two selling a million or more records.  Conversation is 100 fucking times better than that garbage that ja rule sells, as a matter fact I think its 100 times better than any garbage that artists call rap nowadays.  I would say Quik is one of the most sucessful ever in the rap industry.  He put out, what 6 solo albums, a greatest hitz, and a dvd, and he did it in much less time than dre.  It takes dre like 10 years to create a solo album, which end up classic and amazing, but quik does it in way less time, and he has a few classic albums, and all of them are solid.

First up peep how Dre is promoted compared to Quik. I mean Quik has NEVER had a video to get played like any of Dre's 10 or more hits that he produced. ANYBODY who knows real music as I said earlier would pick Quik. As far as name, as I said, Dre would do better in R&B because of fans who are buyin his name. But if u let Dre produce a whole R&B album, not just pop or hip hop r&B, but all aspects such as funk and soul, then let Quik do it, I BET Quik's album would shit on it. Quik would make it sound a lil hip hop, old school, mid-school, soulful, complex, and "pretty", instead of just hard hittin

dunno about no.2

if it's about how many instruments u play Quik

but if u do a poll like this u should aswell ask "who actually does the better music (not who WOULD if they did RnB n shit)".. this is the most important question since the music is what a musician does and what we listening to and this one goes for Dre since he just does better tracks/albums..

1,3 and 4 gotta be Dre imo

it doesn't take Dre 10 years to MAKE but to RELEASE an album.. cuz he's a producer and he doesn't work on solo albums all the time (adn Detox is coming after 4 years).. and the result goes for Dre once again.. it didn't take him much time to produce nearly the whole Doggystyle album all by his own.. and most most will agree that none of Quik the Quik-produced albums can live up to this one

Sure, but Quik's "Safe& Sound" and "Rhythm-al-ism" are classics as well.. Especially production wise, Snoop was the one who laid the best verses on (of course) Doggystyle and The Chronic, which wouldnt be as classic without Snoop, IMO.

And I honestly think that Chronic 2001 is overrated..but hey, thats just my opinion..

Shiiiiiiit....its not fair to Quik that people don't even know who he is, and then they act like he isn't anywhere close to as good as Dre just because they haven't heard him. Thas jus how i c it.

Quik's realer. He's true and got the best line saying something like I can defeat you in one line, I never put my name on a track that wasnt mine. Dre can produce a lot as well but he fed off big Barney a lot before he went to Aftermath. Hisstyle was more different when he hooked up with Mel Man. Sure Quik and Dre have both got noticable styles where you can recognise their tracks on a cd but Quik has a lot of variety and can produce softer tracks for the mood or emotion like Summer Breeze or Rogers Groove compared to dre's emotional tribute to his brother on the 2001 album, track bang bang had a soft emotional sound for the mood didnt it  ::) Dre doesnt capatilise in making real original good music he just wants it to sound cathy for the mass appeal and because of that there's no charateristics or depth, just hard bass line. Both producers good but Quik is better
