Cobra Kai fans?
« on: December 30, 2021, 11:27:50 AM »
Season 4 about to come out in a matter of hours on Netflix.  I'm 39 so I grew up to Karate Kid.  My brother and I both enrolled in Karate school when we were 5 because of this movie.  He made it all the way to black belt by the time he was 12 and I was two belts away from black belt at the time I quit.   The Karate fad started to fade after the 80's but it was a huge part of my childhood.

Don't really care about the younger characters but any of the o.g. characters I love watching

The Karate Kid Was The SHIT!!

LMFAO... They had every kid in the late 80's wearing Karate shoes. I remember when I wanted them and I showed my parents those black cloth shoes with the dark brown plastic sole's. They laughed at me and were happy that they were so cheap and bought me a couple pairs. Sliding around the hallways at school was a blast.

Karate is cool but I’m more of a Kung Fu guy. I’ll be honest I got into old Kung Fu movies because of RZA and Wu Tang Clan. Karate Kid is like the commercialized American version

me too on the Rza Kung Fu stuff... Though when I was a kid all forms of martial arts were popular in the 80's in TV and movies.  Remember how popular John Claude Van Damn was and Steven Seigal back then

Hell yhea Cobra Kai! 8) Love Dudikoff's River of Death. that movie had everything, lost city in the Amazon jungle, midget boxing, Girls, River pirates, Nazi scientists. at least in my childhood memory it's a fantastic wild ride of a movie.
