yep that's the guy !  I'm the same as you I don't follow college football but I knew about the Sandusky scandal.   I just knew about Lavon Chisley because of her or I wouldn't have cared about a random Penn State player getting in trouble... though that is pretty extreme that he stabbed the cat 93 times, in fact there's probably some video report on youtube about it I might as well go down that rabbit hole now since I have nothing better to do then look up random facts related to my girlfriend from 1996...

I don't really follow college football like that but I knew of Penn State because of the Sandusky scandal

Didn't really find anything new on Levon Chisley's murder other than that he had appealed the case but still they keep denying his appeals and he's still in jail.  It sounds like he was expecting to go pro and then actually got kicked off the team because of low grade so he's gotta be pretty dumb because I mean they will give you the easiest courses and cover for you if your a good athlete they will do anything to help you pass in college—or mainly just keep you eligible whether you graduate or not.  So then he still worked out and expected to make the NFL and even got an agent to front him $25,000 dollars because they must have thought he had a good chance to make the pros but he didn't get drafted.  So then the guy quickly spiraled into drugs and ran up other debts and one friend let him stay at his house and that's the friend he ended up killing over some money to repay debts.  Then, on top of everything else the guy took the victims blood and put like the n-word on the walls to make it appear like a racial hate crime and then skipped town.

Pretty bizzare.  My x-girlfriend from 1996 was this guy Levon Chisley's highschool sweetheart.  So her and I were together the summer before I entered my freshman year because her dad lived across the street from me in a suburb of Kansas City.  So then she moves back to her moms in Waldorf, Maryland where Levon Chisley was a star highschool football player.  So she wrote me 2 long love letters back and forth in 1998.  But by 1999 she had stopped writing me.  I called her up on the phone and in those days you had to buy a phone card, like 15 dollars for 30 minute long distance phone call (also AOL Instant Messenger convos).  So I called her and asked her if she had a boyfriend and she said her boyfriend was Levon Chisley a star football player who was going on scholarship to Penn State.  She told me she fell in love with him when he scored a touchdown in a game and as an endzone celebration he actually went and handed her the ball!!

So then in around maybe 2004 or some time around then I was of course still reaching out to her this time through e-mail.  She told me he had gotten arrested and was going to be going to jail for a long time.  They had already broken up a few years before the incident.   She didn't even go to the same college as him.  They were both Seniors together in 2000 when Levon Chisley was a star football player at Westlake High in Waldorf, Maryland.

I remember they used parts of this instrumental a lot during the series, then at the very end this song started and I was like damn, that's Kurupt!

PS: I'm still waiting to find the Mopreme song from "Unsolved" at the end of the episode when they shot 2Pac at Quad Studios, that was epic too.
