Final thoughts for the first impression of Missionary:

The album has some nice joints: My favorites are Shangri-LA, Hard Knocks, Last Dance With Mary Jane, Thank You, Pressure, Another Part Of Me, Scyscrapers, Sticcy Situations and The Negotiator. 6.5 Out of 10 at maximum for the moment. The movie though is a classic  8) They should make a series or a full movie.

My biggest problem is still the mixing-mastering: It only sounds kinda good in my fully treated studio. And I am talking about Room accoustics and good monitor speakers and subwoofer. You have to have a distance to enjoy it more. Because like that the sssss-ssss are not so in your face. As many said, its made for big stages, studios, clubs and maybe cheaper speakers for young people who dont know shit about good sound.

But in my car which has a premium system it doesnt sound good. Compared to GNX, the winner is clearly GNX.

I am going to speculate this will be snoops’s 3-5th best album range

Definitely east coast inspired continued from Marsha’s album as many mentioned.

nice album!

have to put the hiphop filter on apple music though (just found out)

skyscrapers, hard knocks, sticky situations pff great tracks.

intros nice; they carry outta da blue to a more digestable level (still some horrible shit going on there - but that bass and dre flow hit).

other songs all nice.

i only have to skip thank you.

the album has a bit of that 70s blaxploitation/orchestra funk mixed with some English 70/80’s funk rock influence.

nice subtle sub bass layers and effects.

Thanks!

So everything was mixed by Dre & Focus.

That Cocoa Sarai girl contributed to like damn near every track.

Nice to see Sly Piper still around as well! Thurz and The-Dream as well.

So I’ve heard the album two times in its entirety and it does have some pretty nice beats although nothing mind blowing but upon initial listen I found myself at times smiling while driving into work listening just at how well snoops flow was throughout the album. I would say my rank of top albums would be: Doggystyle, Last Meal, No Limit Top Dogg, Dogg Father, BCT and then Missionary.
