Dr. dre announced album with ice cube "helter skelter"... it was even in a death row release booklet. it's shelved.

thy kingdome come... they even released single with music video... it's shelved.

hittman album, announced at the end of forget about dre video... it's shelved.

bishop lamont, the reformation album... it's shelved.

Rakim album "oh my god"... it's shelved.

I remember Helter Skelter mentioned in Doggystyle booklet and The Source ad. Cube/Dre only completed 3 songs. Rakim said creative differences were to blame. He did an interview talking about Dre wanted him to sound West Coast. Feel you about King T, the only other album technically shelved. The others were just mentions. Death Row used to do that and make the artist wait, like Nate. Even Lil Bow Wow was supposed to drop something, that doesn’t mean it was shelved.

There’s too much riding on Missionary not to drop. I doubt Snoop will let that happen either.

Casablanco will fail commercially. it will be one of the worst selling aftermath records release. after that dre will think twice about releasing Missionary.

what i believe is snoop will take some songs from missionary and add other stuff he does with different producers, then he will combine it and release them with a different album title.

At that time, the album wasn't finished, now it's finished. Interscope sets the release date, it is logical if two albums come from Aftermath/Interscope in the summer, the third will be set in the autumn, so that the promotion does not stand in the way

interscope?!?!

who cares with them?

this album aint death row?
or doggystyle?

why interscope?

since when snoop is on the label?

Sorry but what do you mean "mentions? All of those were real albums in the official works. Ok, I give you Helter Skelter, they only did like 3 songs after all. But Ooh My God was in the real progress.

What about Statlanta then? There was a listening party for that album, if I recall correctly, and the partial tracklist was released. What about Busta's 2nd Aftermath album? Street King Immortal? Jesus Is King II?

Dr. Dre has worked with so many artists over the decades, just a few, all of them had an album planned under Aftermath, well now mixtapes, individual tracks have been released but never a real album with let's say Dr. dre as exec producer. As someone already mentioned, what about the second busta Aftermath album, e.g. the Dr. Dre track that was supposed to be on the penultimate album and he celebrated on Instagram!?The Big Bang is really dope, I don't even want to know how many joints Busta has with Dre that we will never hear, but as I said the list is long!and like Dr dre once said the music he makes is for family, friends and his producer crew, Stat Quo is also a nice example, I think Eminem was just afraid because he's such a good lyricist
and at the end of the day it's just a shame, Dr. Dre should have paid more attention to his in-house producers earlier and just put something out there! It's just a shame that the guy is sitting on such hot material and in his opinion, it's not good enough or he's sitting at home alone and jerking off to it. The years were a waste of talent! Well a springboard for many, but let's be honest people
Actually it would be quite simple, you sign an artist, put 3-4 tracks on the album and you're good! Above all, get the music out
Lie To You (Feat. Raheem DeVaughn & Devin The Dude) Prod. By Che Vicious, Kenneth Crouch & Colin Wolfe
G.R.I.T.S. Prod. By Dawaun Parker, Che Vicious & Mark Batson
Dr. Dre had nothing to do with d tracks, but they still have this Dr. Dre feeling

Rakim did multiple interviews why his album never came out due to creative differences. The bottom line is 9.9 times out of 10 Dre not going to release your music, let alone a full album with his tracks unless you’re a groundbreaking or multi-platinum artist. Stat Quo, even Busta isn’t that. We're here talking about this because the mystique and anticipation Dre brings. Our definition of shelved is different.

Busta is dope but not on that level for Dre. Just facts

This is 100% my prediction as well. I said about a year ago we will never get the Dre executive produced Missionary. We will get some other album named Missionary, with maybe two or three Dre tracks, put together by Snoop. And honestly, after hearing We All We Got, I'm fine with that.

Then that just raises the question, why sign all these people in the first place? Why stall their careers, some of whom either are on the rise or have established fanbases? Why make them sit around for years for so long that they lose any hype or momentum behind them? It's fucking cruel. Dre hated getting jerked around by Eazy and Jerry and Suge. Why does he now do the same shit to other people?
