it doesn't have any of the extra elements that Dre said he wanted to add or sounds like the final mix, it's the same that was played on Drink Champs. guess we'll see what happens...

dre being dre - that was bullshit. drunker he got, more he kept reading the same script word for word "this feels weird playing unfinished work" blah blah blah

awful marketing ploy of some kind probably designed by jimmy

Mix and Mastering should be judged on friday, listening to the entire album in high quality. These clips/leaks and audio rips always are compressed and converted.

But what I hear on the official singles is that it's very bright mixed and mastered. Maybe Dre has lost his ability to hear higher frequencies. That happens to a lot of older people. Even younger peeps have tinnitus...

But as I said, we should judge it on friday.

That's true but despite Georgous the Outta Blue and Another Part of Me are not so top notch quality as we can expect. Compton was sonically better. But ok - we have only three songs so far.

Comments are interesting to read on these official posts (youtube, instagram etc.). Some love it, but a lot of people say that this shit is sounding like "Black Eyed Peas", literally music for Commercials ("sounds like it's produced by Disney") and ready for musicals for elderly people  :D :D Fucking internet is crazy these days. Do you think the rest of the album will be more street, lyrical hip hop shit?

I wish they could use ai nate dogg vocal for last dance with mary jane's chorus. They really missed a chance.

Gorgeous is insanely bright, silibance overload. the other tracks are just bright on the vocals, not the end of the world but painful to listen to at loud volumes (like Compton).

i presume the mixes are already bright and the mastering is just pushing them even further.

Would be dope with Anderson .Paak, doing the Jelly Roll part.

I generally asked myself why he wasn't a featured artist, I would have liked to hear that too, C.S. Armstrong
and if that's really true what his son NHAle
said, you don't need Ai to put Nate Dogg on the album, I don't want to know how many tracks Fredwreck, Battlecat as an example Outside The Box (Feat. Nate Dogg) have floating around on their hard drives

Anywhere (Feat. Snoop Dogg & The Last Artful, Dodgr)

I've felt this way since Compton about his hearing not being the same.  The highs have been a little to much.

I have already read from a few that Dre no longer hears so well in old age, that's why the highs are so loud, there was an interview on You tube after the Compton album of Focus, he had explained the mixing process and that they intentionally mix so high so that it highlights the voice. Sometimes they are 8 in the studio in the mixing process and Dre not alone mixed, maybe there is still the interview on You Tube

The possibilities are certainly much more extreme today when it comes to mixing, but if we take 2001 masterpiece for example, it might be because they mix the things in Atmos

I notice it in the car, I can turn up the new Snoop songs loudly and they are clear and distinct, after that Ice Cube comes on my play list they are quieter but the bass booms at the same volume that I have to turn down so that you can understand something. I find Compton worse because my loud speakers are scratching and the voices are not clean because it is too bright

The old albums of Dre are better mixed they have more bass on it and the voices are not so in the foreground, but as Focus said it is done on purpose, it had started from Compton, no idea why they find it better

I noticed, because I listen to a lot of music outside when the weather is good, that all of Ice Cube's albums are actually on the same sound level, except for Everythangs Corrupt, they're a lot louder than the other albums, I've never understood it, especially in the digital world , since Serato auto gain, so as a DJ you can control the volume for the tracks. Well, not every artist has the money for it, but with the big ones, I always think to myself, who mixed it so badly

so vocals are audible when played at high volumes.. for stadium speakers etc
