What??? Put Makaveli and Missionary in the same discussion.. damn I must be too old! Missionary is not easy to listen to for Snoop and Dre fans, I agree because it's so disappointing! Songs like Another part of Me, Last Dance, Gunz N Smoke, Gorgeous are made for the general public! Jelly Roll, Tom Petty, Sting... isn’t that easy to access? 🤣 this cd is Snoop's "makaveli"... damn man you are really talking nonsense.
you can't listen to Hail Mary alone? To Live & Die In L.A? Toss it up? Me & My Girlfriend?
Ironically GNX sounds more like Makaveli than Missionary. Like wtf is that comparison lol?

Feel sorry for those who can't just enjoy this album.

It's a solid project if you didn't have unrealistic expectations of it being Chronic/2001/Doggystyle level.

I can't believe Sticcy Sitiuation almost didn't make the album. Thanks to Snoop for convincing Dr. Dre revive it from the "Shit Outta Luck" pile and "fix it."

I wasn't expecting a new Doggystyle or Chronic, and those who were expecting this type of album were already in error. I was expecting good hip hop and more mature music, with 2 or 3 BANGERS and music that makes my head move. There is none of that. Aside from Outta da blue, Gorgeous and the 2nd part of Sticcy Situation (which is 7 minutes of good music). it's a shame! I don't understand how anyone can be satisfied with this album. coming from Snoop and Dre. but as usual when it's DRE... 95% of people will suck his dick. As much as Marsha's album sounded very good, this one sounds like shit. Bacc on Death Row was much better and enjoyable and above all with much more replay value.

because there is no single on this cd. no bangers. Except outta da blue (by choosing a DEFAULT song!)
There’s  no beat on here that will become a classic and played again and again like Still Dre or Next Episode and used constantly for YouTube vids, TikTok and memes. It’s ok for what it is a mid album that I won’t be coming back too regularly after this month. As people have said if Dre’s name and involvement wasn’t mentioned most people would be looking at Snoop like wtf is this? No one expected it to be like doggystyle and 2001 but at least have a timeless replay value like the old joints. Not just a throwaway TikTok short attention short songs afterthought. I guess it’s just an addition to promote the alcohol or whatever they’re selling over there in the US.

So far RBX, WAWG, New Daz, Man Down Problem REPack and GNX I’ve enjoyed more than this

I think you've misunderstood my point, which was the sound/direction was completely different to the typical sound we were used to with his previous albums.
Like I said, with the exception with a couple of tracks that can be played in club and cruise in a car, it's hard to define what setting you can play the rest of the Makaveli album (for me it's a going to war album that I prefer listening through my earphones and zone out).
The production on Makaveli was unlike anything i've heard before and took a like while to get used to, but it just worked as a whole project.

Snoop said it was in another folder. I guess it was for somebody else, dre or paak or whatever... snoop convinced dre to give it to him.

i don’t understand .. this was your initial reaction

VV

Last Dance with mary jane is a fucking good song. Jelly Roll made it bigger.

Rest of the album can go to trash.

If anybody tries to justify this wack album, fuck him. This is just a waste of time.

Im so fucking dissapointed. This is even worse than "compton".

They shouldnt do matrix 4, missionary neither.

This will be my last comment about album. I promise. I give up expecting anything dope from dre anymore.

what changed since then? you sounded genuinely appalled at how disappointing the album was to you .. so the album went from complete trash to having a handful of bangers??

Bumpin it right now with Beats by Dre studio headphones and you can hear every little tweek and sound effect... makes you appreciate Dre as a producer even more!

No bro sorry.  thank you for me reminds me of one shoot one kill which is one of the songs that disappointed me the most on Compton. and Last Dance, sorry but it's not for me. I tried with this project, I took my time, I listened to it several times, I tried to force myself to like it (Snoop and Dre fan that I am) but no, after a while you have to open your eyes. It’s so disappointing. yes it's good music, it's clean, but damn Dre + Snoop... it needed an album with some bangers like the 2nd part of Sticcy Situations....
