Bought the cd today. And it is way better than the Apple streams. Thanks for the info. Basses bump. Outta da blue is way better mixed.

Enjoying his 70’s blaxploitation/suspense movie soundtrack style mixed with some funk rock and reggae elements. Stylish and obscure. Every sound is dope, guitars, Horns, effects and most of all hi-hats and percussion.

Only big misfit is thank you (which im happy is not on my cd); it doesnt match the style and it does have an ugly arpeggio(in no way comparable to Westside story or in da club) and the last minute of gangsta pose (satisfiction pt2).

I am not a regular mainstream Dr Dre fan;both chronics and their hits are kind of played out to me more than 10 years ago. I am not fiending for Dre and Snoop to have mainstream succes again. I listen to the firm, big bang, lastmeal, aftermath compilation, unreleased stuff etc. And missionary is a Nice addition to that catalog.

I do hope for the return of p funk influenced basslines one day; the better cd mix of Gorgeous reminds a bit of p funk though.
Thats why i love Gorgeous. It sounds funky.

Yes I can understand your point of view. but personally what I wanted to say is that. whether on my phone, in my car or on headphones, the productions suck. and it's not with fucking good headphones that I would appreciate this album better.
everyone got their opinions bro! I mean not many ppl listen to instrumental albums tho! I definitely did & appreciate Dre & the album more

I find it really odd how mixed the opinions are on this album.  Not just on this forum, but online reviews and review/ reactions from YouTube.  It’s a weird mix of people calling it total trash and others praising the album, some even calling it AOTY.

For me, it’s a good album.  Not as good as Doggystyle, NL Top Dogg, or Last Meal.  But probably as good as BCT in my opinion.

mediocre albums typically get mixed reviews like that

seems like most of the people who like it are forcing themselves to like it

labcabin records woulda turned gorgeous into a Still Dre level joint

it had mad potential tbh .. as stated earlier, the issue was the chorus, the lack of bassline, the verses sounding cut n paste, and the overdone brightness which doesn’t help to hide those from

but don’t trip, we’re taking over from where dre left off

Listening to it right now after a smoke, I'm starting to appreciate it more. I just can't get over the hooks on this. Can't see myself coming back to it very often though in vocal form because of this.

Snoop said Sticcy Situation wasn't gonna be on the album til he pushed Dre to mix it up real nice, and see how it turns out.

Crazy to me, would love like 10 more like that one

Can someone explain like I'm 5 what's going on with the different releases and which I should check out and which I should avoid?  I'm hearing there's a 15 track version and a 16 track version and the mixing and/or mastering is fucked up on one but not the other.  Should I get the CD, vinyl, FLAC?  What's the deal?  And now apparently there's an instrumental release?  Is there a difference in that one as well?

The 15 tracc one is good quality but is missing a song (Thank You). The 16 tracc one has the missing song but also has a fucced up master. Your best bet is to buy the instrumental version that has Thank You but doesn't have fucced up treble.
"Detox" is a myth -- Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, Area 51, Iraq having WMD, Detox...you get it now?  It was invented by the Aftermath marketing department to maintain the fans' attention.  Notice how everytime a new Aftermath album is ready to come out, they always mention Detox is next up?  Because they are using the invention of "Detox" as a way to market other albums.  The sooner you realize that Detox is NOT REAL, the sooner you'll feel liberated.  Oh yeah, f.u. Aftermath for fooling us fans.

Get in your car, drive to Walmart or Target.  Buy the 15 track CD.  Bring it home, then go online and download the track 'Thank You' from one of the usual sources.  Done.

And make sure you brush your teeth before going to bed.

What a sloppy release. There is a 2 second gap between songs in the cd. :/

Snoop speaks to the haters

Maybe many here expected something else, but so much hate and disrespect in the last few weeks against the 2 OG's is the last! Shame on you!
