like i said, it’s not a bad album … there are some good songs and snoop does sound fresh in parts, but it sounds more mechanical in others, if u get what i’m saying like dre tried really hard to channel 93 snoop, and while some of it works, a lot of it sounds overly contrived i honestly haven’t listened to the album much, but from what i did hear, i liked sticcy situations, pressure, fire, gunz n smoke and a couple others
I have never seen anyone as lucky as Dah Dah, Snoop keep pushing him and supporting him but no improvement in his work, Guap delivers way better work.Dah needs to step his game up, go and learn from some top Music Video directors, his style is repetitive and boring now. This is my party song from the album, went straight into my hip hop party playlist, I expect better visuals
Lmfao people on this forum forcing themselves to listen to the album numerous times so the brain gets used to it and it finally sounds ok. Now you know how radio brainwashes you with the same BS again and again on the airwaves until it sounds ok. You same guys all love Despacito and Post Malone repeating the word Psycho?
this album way more different than compton. only "outta da blue" sounds like a compton leftover and thats why we all hate it.and we have many songs reminds me "old dre" that we love but in a new way.check the fucking instrumentals especially like "hard knocks", it sounds like a early 2000s dre beat which played live with a band. (beat switch could sound better if was shorter)"pressure" also sounds like "choke me spank me" of Xzibit, even the flow and rap style, but this one is 2024 type of shit. just check 2 songs and u'll get it."thank you" instrumental is going to make u understand what dre was trying to do with "under pressure" song back in the day. that demo always sounded "wack" to me but i remember dre said its a demo and he is not finished with it yet. Thank you is a fucking banger and from top to bottom, with its tempo, drum programming, sound effects the way he uses synth bass it is just doctor mf dre... damn!"negotiator" also sounds like the only track everybody loved on compton, "talking to my diary". that song deserves a chorus and extra verse to look like a casual song. string orchestration reminds me early detox projects.skyscrappers beat also sounds like unreleased detox banger "popped off"... i loved that beat, horns and orchestration. sometimes you dont need a chorus. this track is like the "xplosive" of Missionary. an extra dr. dre verse and an rnb verse would make it way more better but im still fucking with it."fire" bassline is classic chronic 2001 shit. drums reminds me "the wash" song. i'm pretty sure fredwreck is highly resposible with the beat. it might sound jamaican but this is pure west coast brothers. when i heard the instrumental i realised they missed the opportunity with not having b-real on this motherfucker."sticky situations" reminds me lots of dre songs at the same time but i cant be sure which ones they are, im so confused, sometimes i feel "no diggity" vibe. beat switch brought me to wash soundtrack again, was it "on the boulevard" beat? some reminds me that. also at the end we hear some dj quik vibe. damn this song is too west coast, isnt it?"gunz n smoke" sounds like a beat from "the massacre" of 50 cent. it brought me to those days so it feels really nice.am i wrong? someone support me if you are still not fucking with the album listen to the instrumentals first try to feel dr. dre touch and appriciate it, then jump into normal album and appriciate snoop's performance. it will change your mind. just do what i say.
Dre's projects are only as good as the strength of his collaborators. The ICU is decent enough, they're good, very good, great producers even. I personally find Dem Jointz style to be rhythmically awkward and noisy but some people might appreciate it's 'uniqueness', Dre certainly does.but his previous team (Elizondo, Batson, Storch, Parker etc) especially at their peak were truly AMAZING and that's the difference here. same goes for Compton and with pretty much everything else inbetween.
You are insane
Some of us might not like the album, but it doesn't mean talk about their psyche.
