huh?

an aneurism can definitely affect your cognitive abilities. what are you going on about? it’s not a diss homie. it’s like rupturing your achilles in sports.. sure, u can still play- but your prime days are behind you.

the only “classless” thing here is you calling people “cunts” because they have an opinion on the music that u disagree with.

there’s a few of you on here..

 :cac:

I don't think Dre's aneurism had anything to do with this at all.  You don't think Dre could produce another Doggystyle if he wanted to?  Of course he could.  He could easily produce songs that sound like 93 again.  He has said time and time again he is not doing that kind of music anymore.  It is a conscious effort to move on and make different sounding music.  It's not my favorite, but I get it.  It's the fans' faults for being disappointed when Dre said from Day 1 this was not going to sound anything like his old music, yet people still believed somehow that it was going to sound like Doggystyle II.

lol

it doesn’t need to sound like his old music to be as good as his old music

this is not as good as his old music…and is no where close tbh.

is it bad music? no… but to answer your question, no, i don’t think current dre could produce something as good as doggystyle. he doesn’t have the hunger and youthful energy to make something as organically dope. he’s overthinking the production, which is why it sounds far more contrived. does the aneurism factor into this? maybe, maybe not.. but the fact remains, dre is out of his prime, and there’s no shame in that. he’s still the goat, by far.

The Chronic & Doggystyle were full of samples and interpolations, so I find it strange it's an now an issue

It's not an issue but much easier/cheaper to get clearances for an interpolation (creating your own recording of the music) as you only need permission from the music writer/publisher/estate as opposed to permission from the owner of the Master Recording (usually the record label, sometimes label/writer/producer/performer/estate).

Dre has always done both but much more interpolating these days.

I like Dre doing some interpolations here. Gives this the live performance vibe that Dre was trying to achieve. Overall, I like the whole project better and better. I currently have “Pressure” and “Hard Knocks” in heavy rotation the past few days. But I still have the opinion that some songs are too short (also because of the beat switches) and are already over by the time they really get going.

I hope Snoop gets Dre to actually release the leftovers on that EP or even reuse them for a follow-up project. I wouldn't mind if Snoop only released albums with Dre from now on. Even if the sound didn't meet expectations, it's hard to deny that Snoop and Dre are making good quality music here. After seeing the “Missionary” short movie, some sort of movie-themed concept album with Dre and Snoop would be the bomb.

Does it look like ICU is slowly going its own way? And Dre may have to build a new production crew
