i don’t get what’s so hard to understand

he fell off from a production standpoint…. sonically, it doesn’t hit the same. he coulda did the same exact style with more warmth on the EQ and thickness on the low end it would sound a lot better. Dre was always a master at making the beat hug the vocals, which is something lacking on this album.

He also fell off in terms of layering without any sounds clashing due to an abundance of chaos….this is not about personal taste, but more so in regards to a production method, which is unequivocally a step down from his prime work, where no frequency ever got lost in the mix.

Yes, and i'm telling you he did that on purpose, sonically it does not sound the same.  This is a conscious move on his part.  He does not want a warm EQ.  It's your opinion that it would sound a lot better, so again, you're bringing personal preference into it.  Sounds clashing and chaotic sound, again, a conscious move.  You don't think Dre could've easily removed some layers or instruments if he wanted to?  Of course he could have.  He tried something different, you didn't like it, cool.  But it wasn't like Dre 'messed up' or 'fell off'.  Or tried to make a warm sounding EQ and failed, he didn't even go that route on purpose.

"Soncially it does not sound the same"  Sound the same as what??  Chronic 2001?  Doggystyle?  What are you comparing it to?  His old shit, which he said he doesn't want any of his new stuff to sound like anymore.

Again, he's getting away from his old sound.  You keep saying 'he used to have vocals hug the beat' 'he used to produce songs with less clashing layers'.  That's fine.  He also used to produce songs with the Moog whistle, which he's stopped doing.  He's also upped the tempo on many of his productions.  That doesn't mean he 'fell off'.  Just means he's doing things differently now that you don't like.  So be it.  I'm agreeing with you, i don't really like it either.  But it's because we are wanting his old sound, which he is not doing anymore, purposefully.

and what exactly do u think falling off means? …. if i was fucking women until they squirt and then i consciously decided i was done giving women what they want, and i started fucking them all
chaotically with a less cohesive rhythm to my strokes … yea, u can claim that’s a conscious decision …. but that would still mean my pipe game fell off. simple science.

OK good, so we've both come to an agreement that this new sound and production style is something Dre has done intentionally and NOT him losing his touch or making a mistake in mixing/production, this is a conscious decision.  Good, now we're in agreement on that.

Now the second part of the discussion is you claiming that he 'fell off' because you don't like this new sound and prefer his old sound from 20 years ago.  That's great, it's a subjective point you have made because you wish the album sounded like how Dre USED to produce music.  Cool, you fall into that category of wishing Dre went back to his old sound.

But there are people who do like his new sound, especially younger fans, who don't like Dre's old stuff and prefer his new.  So, you can't say he 'fell off', how is having a charting album in these days "falling off"?  You need to simply say he's not making music in the style and content that you like anymore.

Alot of people like the old Kendrick Lamar from the GKMC and even before that.  And now he's selling more records than ever and is more popular than ever.  Did he 'fall off' because he doesn't sound like he used to??  No, he simply doesn't make music to your taste anymore.  Same thing here.

The chaotic style is a personal taste.
I grew up listening to hardcore drum & bass/jungle so I can appreciate the chaotic production. My parents used to call it noise lol, but I loved the amen drum breaks, chopped up samples etc.

not too sure i totally agree on him not making timeless hits being 100% a conscious decision… it could be. but since we are not in his mind, we cannot decisively say that dre can produce a song as timeless as Gin N Juice in his current state. you can absolutely speculate on that and it might even be the case, but i don’t share that belief definitively.

again.. it’s not about me not liking the music. dre has made hits that get played in clubs 30 years later. this simply doesn’t have that value. that is the exact definition of falling off. debuting at number 20 on the charts when he used to debut at the top of the charts.. once again.. is the objective definition of falling off.

I agree, saying words like " fell off" is a bit harsh as the quality is still there. It's just different from the old shit. If I bumped into a girl I used to fuck 31 years ago and we end up having sex, I would look like a damn fool thinking and expecting the shit to feel like I remembered it to. Of course it would feel different. I would just be happy I'm hittin it again after 30 something years.

Using that logic, hip-hop as a whole fell off since Doggystyle so maybe this is just a representation of that. Mothafuckas were going platinum left and right from the early 90s to the mid 2000s now it's not the case. It's not like artist got weak because it's still vets dropping some dope shit, it's just where we're at

you’re 100% right

hip-hop as a whole has absolutely fallen off

Not denying it,I'm saying that to say Snoop not selling like Doggystyle is a reflection of that and not his shit being weak.
