Favorite music to workout to?
« on: January 07, 2023, 03:17:55 AM »
For anyone who loves hiphop and looking for motivation for workouts this is the best shit ever.  Sticman (of Dead Prez) Workout Volumes 1 and 2.  I posted a couple YouTube videos to give you a taste but really you need to go thru the entire albums both the 2010 album and then ten years later the 2020 album.

These are two gems but they only work if you are working out to them it’s not like you gonna roll around and bump it in your ride.  The beats have a pulse that immediately gets you moving and then the lyrics help you overcome mental blocks.

This will put you next level if you doing 1 mile a day this will make you go 3 miles a day you gonna triple your output !!

Yeah man.. Volume 1 album (from 2010) is on ITunes so that's easy to go through.  Volume 2 album (from 2020) you have to get from youtube.  I actually bought both digitally through Amazon because they were hard to find in the proper format when they first came out.

Best song for me from those Stic-Man albums that made it on to my training playlist was 'White Belt'

'Chop wood, carry water, train smarter not harder...yes sensei! Kia-ahhh!

Great, at least somebody is aware of it… but it’s really not about one song, it’s made to listen to from beginning to end through a workout.

Okay.. they can get you started—but they don't have the lyrics Sticman has to help you get over mental blocks in your training.

Body Head Bangerz - “Can’t be touched” gets me amped up. The whole album is pure adrenaline.

I found another one in the RBG Fit Club catalogue.  This is one of Stic's homies but seems like a few years younger than Stic.

So far it's 3 albums that I'm aware of.  These albums are all 3 like no other, hip-hop made specifically for working out, but not to be confused with "Pump Up The Jam" type workout music; this isn't dance music, they are lyrically on point and not the type of dance music you find in gyms or at stadiums.  These tracks have such themes as being locked up or in solitary confinement and you still have to get your workout in...

3 Albums from the RBG Fit Club

1.  Sticman The Workout Volume 1 (2010)

2.  Sticman The Workout Volume 2  (2020)

3.  Coach Nym - Healthy Gangsta (2021)
