Cold Ass 2 Step seems to have the same bassline as Ride On (Caught up) by Snoop produced by Quik. I can hear it in this song.
Which is also a play on I Can Feel That on Mausberg shit, Easy Call is of course is a play on Hearts of Men, Meet The Whoops is a play on on Dip Da on Suga Free shit . Most of the beats he provided on here was recycled beats of his old ahit. Does that show a lack of confidence or is that is what they wanted for the album?
Man i was thinking the same thing! I feel like Quik hid an Easter Egg in this album, and every song has some sort of element from another Quik song. Dern and Spruce has the sirens from A New Nite from the Rosecrans album. And Meet The Whoops also samples Quik's Groove 1.
On Two Hi (Waves) Im hearing the drum pattern from Down, Down, Down from Rhythmalism.
17. Clown Outro - I could hear the melody of 'Murder Dem Murderers' by Kam/Dr Dre in bits of this song, og sample -(35-45 secs)
Whoever The Whoops are, they're pretty good!
They got a crazy song over the Chronic Intro beat at the Pop Out concert.
I was put on to loads of great new west shit from the concert.
How did Jay Worthy go from growing up in Vancouver to being a super blood in Compton?
