Plus all the lyrical heavyweights are in the east so he can hook up with them and murder them on his own shit.

Ras is suppose to be close with Russel Simmons and Before Ras signed to priority he was made an offer by Def JAm and turned it down.

He's now getting a 2nd chance to get with Def Jam and me personaly i hope he goes for it. Ras Is just too good a rapper to carry on in this business and still go unnoticed, he dropped best lyrical work in hip hop and no one cared. IMO Ras deserves to go to Def Jam and get all the success and fame he can. Even if he goes all commercial i won't care coz theres nothing else he can do.

All westcoast labels will be shit for him coz he's never get an album out on aftermath and i'll have the production on Van Gogh than Eminem production any day.

Plus all the lyrical heavyweights are in the east so he can hook up with them and murder them on his own shit.

this is great news!!! i agree thou, Def Jam don't know how 2 promote west coast artists... Warren G is the only west coast artist who did good on Def Jam but i don't know if it was there fault that WC didn't do we'll, i think Ras Kass would sell alot more and l@@k @ Joe Budden, like some1 else said, started on mixtapes ain't even got an album out yet and they put him in the Def Jam Vendetta game and WC aswell... i think he'll get promoted well hopefully n  finally get the recognition he deserves as 1 of the dopest mc's from any coast...

Domino was part of Def Jam wasn't he (He was on the Def Jam's 10th Anniversary album)? He went platinum. Warren G resurrected Def Jam but that was during a whole different time period when the West was the hottest shit out. I think if Ras does sign with Def Jam it would be better than where he's at right now. They'll give him a good budget to work with and he's respected nationwide for his skills instead of just being regional like WC or Jayo. It might work.

First off, to anyone who wonders why def jam might sign Ras, i would say it is because his name is now out there due to his current situation; i mean, it is sad that it takes this for Ras to get some attention, but whatever it takes i guess....i think it is sad that Ras is so slept on- the man has never even sold more than 150,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Unbeleivable for someone so talented.  While his voice and flow are not as good as some, his lyrics may be top 3 of all time.

Signing with Def Jam means at least 500,000 for Ras, which would be about 300,000 more than his forst two albums combined!! You may say it aint about sales, but if there is one rapper in the world who i wouldnt be mad at for selling out a little it is Ras Kass.  How else are all these so called hiphop fans gonna notice one of the greratest talents hiphop has ever seen.  I didnt think that the Van GOgh promo was Ras' best work, and part of the reason is becasue  as he says himself he has to dumb down his lyrics to let everyone understand.  TO me, in a perfect world, Ras would go back to fucking only with the people that made his first album, but that will never happen.  So, with that in mind, i hope he does go to def jam and works ONLY with east coast producers, because the forced typical westcoast sound is not Ras' thing, as shown on some of the horrendous Van GOgh tracks.    Besides, Ras is more of an East coast style mc so maybe they will support him unlike the majority of west coast fans who only support dre-related music.
