Not the greatest of Primo beats. Hopefully this is more just a hype track for the album. Only been waiting about 25 years.

Thanks, exactly my opinion, Beat Breaks (Feat. Nas) was also a rather weak beat. I liked Wave Gods (Feat. A$AP Rocky & DJ Premier) best even though the beat was by Hi-Boy

Clear effort to recapture the magic of "Nas Is Like"

...I don't listen to new music so I don't really care.  Why not just go back and listen to "Nas is Like" if that's what they are trying to do anyway?

yeah this is subpar

Premo has seen much better days

and Nas seems to have found a lane with HitBoy now and its what best suits him I guess

But there's more to music than just sounding good.  Nas obviously is talented enough, if he gets with a good producer like Hitboy then they can come up with a nice sound.  All the albums they did together have a nice sound.  But there is more to music then just "okay, you play a nice beat and I will start rapping over it"

Check out Tommy Dee's interviews where he talks about recording with Pac.  He tells some good stories about how Pac like barely even cared about the beat he was just like "okay just get some drums, do this, do that, they just want to hear me rap over it."

That's because what 2pac was saying actually mattered.

Nas is just recycling the same shit I can almost guess what the fucc he's going to say before he says it.  Here's the formula for every Nas verse, like this..

Step 1:  Start off with some clever line
Step 2:  Say something slightly political to appear edgy, like call out some name like Suge, of Russel Simmons, Dame Dash, Obama, Huey Newtwon, some kind of name
Step 3:  Then brag a bit about all the great stuff Nas done in his life and career and how he's still here

DONE

Same fuccin shit.  That's when it's the worst when I can predict what these guys are going to say.  It used to never be like that.  Do you think when I was 16 and they dropped "Nas is Like" that I was sitting back predicting what the fucc Nas was gonna do?  Hell no, the shit he was doing was like iconic it was like opening worlds I never knew existed, it was way over my head, I'd have to listen for months or a year just for my ears to catch up
