Drake receives cease-and-desist letter from Tupac Shakur's estate over AI diss track

They're don't have a case as I stated before. He didn't use Tupac's voice so there is no sample. He used an AI system that MAY have trained itself using his voice. Either way, there is no case. What's next, Top Dogg and The Realest have to check in with Universal if they ever want to drop a track because Universal feels they own the rights to any voice pattern that sounds remotely like an artist they control? Don't want to sound repetitive with that argument but that's what it comes down to.

You don't think it's odd that the 2Pac estate sent a cease and desist for this but not all of the AI songs on YT, some of which have over a million views? I think the music industry is playing chess here with this track. However this plays out will set the legal precedent and will dictate the future use of AI in the music business.

What's good with hitting Universal with an anti-trust suit tho? They own/control/have their hand in; the labels, artist, streaming, websites, podcast, influencers, magazines, tv, radio, film etc. If you reference Freeway Rick Ross, he stated that the judge in his case was connected to Universal and it was a conflict of interest when he sued the fake rick ross who was under the Universal. There their reach is in the legal system too.
