“Pete Rock is one of The Greatest Creators Hip Hop and Music has ever seen. It has been a dream of mine to work with him on an album. And once we got together and I was around him and all his records and his MPC I felt the spirit of what I always loved in hip hop, in soul music, and why I wanted to be a part of the artform. His beats, his production, his scratches, took me to a place where I could just MC freely. It felt like I was home.” - Common

All songs produced by Pete Rock

Haven’t spun it yet in its entirety, but these two are two of the greatest when at the top of their game.  Pete has some seriously underrated shit over the last decade.

Listening to the Blu and Evidence album today, and this tomorrow

Thought this album was brilliant. The production of Pete Rock with Common was the perfect compliment in my opinion. Common has some good lyrical work on this as always, reminded me of the style and vibe f the "be" album, my understanding is this is jut one of several albums from these two?

After two listens, I feel this is Commons best since BE easily (but certainly lacking the highs of that album)

Stellar is insane..:production by PR on that one is just amazing.

In fact; this entire album feels timeless and from the golden era but also fresh at the same time….truly exceeded my expectations. No classic tracks but a great album from front to back.

after 4 album with one producer common has to choose another.
and he choosed wisely!

Pete Rock did great/good duo album with smoke dza and skyzoo too.

the mc and the producer feel each other, they know music, and good musicans at this age, at their age. They are professionals and love music!

by the way common got the best discography ever if we look at the producer side. He made albums with No ID, J Dilla, Kanye West, Neptunes, Questlove, now Pete Rock!

This album is incredible, wow. Probably his best since "Be" (though I also really enjoyed Dreamer/Believer).

Pete Rock CRUSHED production and Common is still a master of his craft.

Agree with everyone here.  Not as good as BE, that's an iconic album, but definitely in the same air as Finding Forever, Be, and The Dreamer/Believer.  Common's last few albums just haven't resonated with me, but this one is back on point.
