The legendary #DJQuik breaks down some of the #DrDre tracks he helped produce over the years 🫡

Quik names some incredible tracks. #50Cent’s “In Da Club” and “If I Can’t” - which Quik lent Dre his drums for. #Eminem’s “My Dad’s Gone Crazy”, #Xzibit’s “Choke Me, Spank Me” and Eve’s “Satisfaction”.

Huge shout out to the legendary @djquik for an incredible 4 hour interview on @drinkchamps 🏆
2 Corinthians 6:8
By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;

6:9
As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;

6:10
As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

Is giving him drum samples considered helping to produce the song?

personally i would say no, unless there's more to it than that.

but the anecdote of giving Dre the inspiration behind California Love was pretty cool...

In my opinion it would be IF he also created the drum loop sequence. If he handed Dre some samples and Dre made the drum beat himself with those then NO.

Are they planning to do that? Kind of funny considering Suge or Reggie wasn't in the studio with the artists like that.

Suge just said in one of his last maybe three podcast that he was in the studio with Tupac.

great to see dre and quick have great chemistry when it comes to making music, I loved his answer when they tried to set him up with "did you get credit" and he was like "I didn't want none", was a classy response and showed the friendship between the two just collabing and making music which is what its all about

They traded drum files (a lot of producers were doing that around that time). There's Dre drum sounds on Quik's albums in that era like Under the Influence and Truma but you don't see Dre bragging about it.

Although he tries to appeal to the current market, Quik can still put out some great music. Dre, not so much.

I'm assuming his residual checks are getting smaller and are fewer in number. Now he's regretting doing a lot of production uncredited, allegedly.

He sound designe, did not produced or did somthing on a track. He did perc's on truth hurts track with rakim. He said it that dre coach him how to play tamburine. So he was just one of musicians on the track, not producer.
