« on: May 23, 2003, 11:00:58 PM »
Mine would have to be groove number 6 from Under Tha Influence. That beat was dope. What about y'all?
Nah, maybe it's the bitches and the sunshine
Fool, it's the palm trees, cool breeze and one-time
This the home of ragtops and swimsuits
We wear Chuck Taylors, nigga, we don't fuck with Timb boots!

What's up from Australia,

Two answers from me:

(1) In my car and home stereo, definitely 'Dollaz & Sense'. (Safe and Sound album & Murder Was The Case soundtrack)

and

(2) At a nightclub, definitely 'Get At Me'. (Safe And Sound album)

Peace !

Does a Quik's Groove 4 exist?

Cause Rhythmalism didn't have a Quik's Groove.

I asked myself the same questions.  But I just figured that El's Interlude was the Groove Track.  Anyway, my vote is for 6 and 7.  That beat with the horns off Under The Influence is off the hook.  7 is tight too.

.. Speaking Of El Debarge,

If anyone has seen the DVD that Quik just put out, there was a chaptor on what a genius El Debarge was.. Quik was in the studio turnin knobs and El was in the booth on the piano.  This beat came in and I was like...  :o  Had to have it.  So the homie Engelwood came thru like a champ.  This, by far is my fav Quik track... Just thought Id share that and say thinks to Big Engel-Rock  ;)

Yea.. the OG was dope.  The one flaw is with the recording quality.  If you notice over time, Quik really focused himself and mastered HOW TO RECORD and MIX an album, not just create.  He wasn't satisfied with just creating an album.  He wanted it to hit your ear drums right.  IMO, Every album sounded better then the one before it with regards to the recording and mixing quality of the album.  I would agree with you if it was mixed by todays standards.

Here's a wish:
I'd love to hear Quik Re-Mix that first album and re-release it.  That would be tight.

My favorite is #3 from S&S, I love the new one #7 too.

btw #4 is on the end of one of the songs from Rhythmalism, Whateva U Do or Thinkin Bout U, i forget which, but it goes into like a 2 minute instrumental.
That shit confused me for years too until someone told me.
