I have to agree with the comment about "Hard Knocks". That's my personal standout track. That beat combined with Snoop flowing like that put a big smile on my face on first listen. Also loved that "Murder was the case, but you know what the witness heard......nuthin'!" was a cool moment. Too bad they decided to make a beat switch - the second half isn't bad, but would have preferred a full track with that beat.Snoop on "Thank You" was one of my favorite moments. Great flow and delivery combined with some catchy verses. In general, Snoop's performance throughout the entire project is outstanding. I know that this will most likely be the last Dre/Snoop project, but I could listen to Snoop performing like that endlessly. This album is quite busy and reserved at the same time. Will need to give this some more spins to share some other cool moments.
That they released the instrumental version and that we are all discussing the album in depth! Hip hop as a genre and culture is moving in the right direction, with more focus on quality, lyricism, and good production. That makes me happy! It's almost 20 years since I was that active on a forum. Dre and Snoop together is an automatic special event! My favorite track right now is 'Pressure'. Snoop kills his Slick Rick flow, and the beat is phenomenal.
my favorite moment was when it ended
The notion that there are new Dr. Dre vocals on a Death Row release. Granted Death Row isn't the same now as the 90's, but given all the torment and bad things associated with Death Row and Dr Dre, the fact that Dre is now on a Death Row project again 30 years later is just cool to see. Back to where it all started, Dre and Snoop on Death Row, a great full circle moment that doesn't happen too often in life.
