a lot of the greatest producers use a team of musicians and session players they can orchestrate to achieve their vision.. duno where u got "only dre" from
quik gets praised for being hands on but he did the exact same thing throughout his career with robert bacon, g-one, stan the guitar man etc
timbaland is considered a goat but was constantly getting dissed by idiots for having a team on musicians he utilized regularly
only people who don't understand production diss dre

since early 2000s timbaland did the same thing with scott storch, danja and his other session players.

as i heard in an interview (rubin or skyler im not sure) skyler brings the song and chorus. em writes his lyrics and asks rubin to add drums to skyler's piano and produce the song. rubin says "no drums", it feels better this way, just piano and you. thats how the song structure has been decided and produced. sometimes even the vision is producing.
