Gave this album another spin. It's definitely growing on me but I find it's too short. I know it's best to cut the fat, but it would be great to have another 2-3 songs. I still miss Kurupt's old flow and lyrics

After listening to the whole album, im a little disappointed if im honest.
A lot of people on here were really hyping this album and to me it didn't live up to that hype.
Don't get me wrong, it's a very good and solid project.
It's good to hear Kurupt sound healthier and not rap gibberish nonsense as we've seen in some past tracks.
There were some really good produced tracks from Battlecat, but the production (except for a few tracks) sticks to the same played out generic westcoast sound of the 2000's.

Maybe i'm old, but I just need something different. If I want to listen to that sound, i'll put on an album from that era.
Don;t get it twisted, it's a solid effort, but it's not what I was lead to believe it

I felt the same. Was expecting something amazing with Battlecat and Kurupt together  but received something that was just alright. Lyrics for Kurupt are a step up but this mostly reminds me of the lower effort Battlecat tracks you can find on Cali Iz Active (Stop Lying), WAWG (imma dogg) and BCT (LAX)

Wow. I feel production on this album is WAY better than the 3 songs you listed. Imma Dogg and LAX? These beats are way better.

I don't know maybe I'm just losing interest in music in general as I get older. "40years old and still rapping uurgh" maybe listening also goes the same way.  I don't seem to like anything new and no new releases get me excited like the 2000s era. Even the old stuff I don't really want to listen to anymore. Over the last few years there's no earbuds on anymore whilst working and even in spare time. I read some articles the other day how there was no hip hop songs in the US top 40 recently so maybe I'm not the only one feeling this way?

Throughout the 00s and up until now I always thought the best production on the mainstream west coast albums is usually by Battlecat. Take Xzibits Shut Your mouth for example off Kingmaker as a recent example he still does it. But nothing on this one really is memorable to me. I do think Battlecat and Jane Handcock should do an album though. The tracks on Algorithm they did together and on here sound great.

I guess im one of the few people that enjoyed Missionary (and still do). I get that many we disappointed with that project and isn't what they expected (I also have criticisms), but I appreciate that they took a risk and went for a different sound.

Like I previously said, I thought Kurupt's album was solid, just not incredible. And that 'classic sound', I sometimes just find a bit too generic and played out for my liking.

I think what takes away from Kurupt's album being a classic is it being too short, album only runs for 39 minutes with 11 tracks including 1 being the intro. Album has a real party vibe and I think if they added a couple more songs like Survival it would have pushed closer to that classic status.

I still really like the album (feels like a long EP) and I enjoyed Missionary too
