DR Digitally Remastered albums
« on: August 05, 2025, 10:53:13 AM »
Are these worth buying on CD or would it be best to stay with the original releases?

Has anyone experienced a difference?

Thanks in advance.

I had a lot of them on CD but being a purist and wanting as close to the OG releases as possible I slowly got rid of them over the years.

But I do seem to remember that they knocked harder in my system than the regular releases seem to do now.  Dogg Food for sure seemed to sound a lot harder digitally remastered, the bass hit more than my copy that I have now.
Same with Murder was the Case, everything sounded more crisp and to the front.

I’ve never heard All Eyez on Me or the 7 Day Theory as a digital remaster but I will get round to it at some point. Although I would say the regular version of All Eyez on Me is fine as is.

If you can, get them because I genuinely think you can hear the difference, which would make sense as they have been effectively remastered.
