COMPTON VS. MISSIONARY ... WHICH DO YOU PREFER?

Snoop sounds really good on Missionary and to me the album is more cohesive where Compton sounds messy and probably would have benefited from cutting the track list down.
Snoops album could have used more DPG/Death Row features and Dre's album would have been better without King Mez, Justus and Dem Jointz.
Compton starts off really bad and chaotic with Talk About It where Missionary slides straight into a smooth track with Shangri-La.
Both albums have some greats tracks but if I have to choose one for me it's Missionary.

“Talk About It” was a perfect jump off… because we’d been anticipating a Dre solo for over a decade and it didn’t seem real, like is it really happening, it was surreal…
So first it starts off with Mez some unknown cat so the anticipation was just building and building and then Dre’s voice comes in almost like part of the beat or like another Med verse—so that moment when it hits you that it’s Dre, that was shock ⚡️ value for me!!
I thought it was perfect… “I just bought California!” Cause he’d just made the beats 🎧 deal.
It’s a hype track to set off the album with the right energy.

talk about it threw me off at first
but i grew to appreciate it
all on me, all in a days work, darkside/gone, loose canons, genocide, deep water, for the love of money, satisfiction, animals, talking to my diary
all instant classix

could be your system and how u got your settings.. generally speaking, the beats on missionary sound way smaller
the main issue with compton is that i felt the vocals coulda used a little more de-esser ... but i thought that was on purpose to keep the lyrics sharp ala stadium music

I'm far from the only one who had this problem tho, it's been one of the main criticism since day one
And I tried to play it on many different systems... everything sounds so sharp and make your ears hurt, the drums and bass are basically nonexistent... and again, MANY people had that same issue which has never happened with any of Dre's music so I guess it wasn't just me and my systems
The first time I was playing it I thought my headphones were broken so I played some other songs and they sounded completely fine
Even tho I don't like outta da blue, at least you can totally feel and hear the BOOM BOOM BOOM it makes when the songs starts, it has more weight than on any song on Compton. The problem with missionary is that it's way too overproduced like most of Dre's modern music, but I don't recall having a problem with the way drums and bass sound

go read the discussion threads again .... compton was actually praised for its mixing in real time .. missionary was questioned sonically from the jump .... people thought it was an upload mistake online and that the CD would sound better lol (unfortunately, it was the same masters on the cd)
the sibilance on compton is definitely on the harsher side compared to his previous work .... but the music overall sounds bigger and the layers have life
Tony Trey:
Eh. I guess I prefer Missionary. But that's like saying, I'd rather get punched in my right eye, rather than getting punched in my left eye. I really don't like either album. Compton is the most boring sleep inducing Dre-produced album ever. Missionary at least has a few okay-ish songs.
