If he did alot of songs and they are unreleased in Snoop's possession and there is talk of Snoop selling his catalog, he has a right to know where the money is going to go.

If its about Tha Last Meal, this would fall under Master P and Priority Records. Besides,  what did Kokane do with all the exposure Snoop gave to him? Look at Fredwreck, he was able to expand his resume,  Kokane was never marketable, and he never tried to update his craft, just like Ceelo did with Gnarls Barkley.

P lost the rights to NL music a long time ago to his producers.

He who pays for the studio time owns the reels or recorded, owns the masters, that’s the parts artist don’t understand.

Get your paper and business right. If he didn’t have his business right there then don’t cry now. It’s been years since tha last meal, tha Eastsidaz and dogghouse days. Very good music he had there but from my understanding he chose to leave and was given no debt to recoup the music.

Not sure if it’s bad music but you can’t always walk away with out paying your debt to music and expenses.  If kokane signed another deal with any other label after dogghouse typically that label also has to pay his red debts at dogghouse. That didn’t happen.

That’s what No Limit paid Death Row what they felt he owed and or could have made the next few albums. 

It’s business he left debt free. His choice.

You can own the master recording to a song but not own the copyright to the music or lyrics. Owning the rights to the master recording doesn't mean you can release it and not have to pay the copyright holders. That's why there is a fee pay to the master recording owner and a separate payout for the copyright owners (producer/rapper) when dealing with song placements in movies, tv etc. As long as he has the copyright he's supposed to get paid something. If a split sheet was done back then or not to say who should get what, that doesn't change the fact that he has ownership in the song and rights to get paid.

the point is snoop's name makes your contrubition reach to millions of people all around the world. so dont expect 50/50 royalties. if you do the same song by yourself, nobody would be interested in it except of a few core fans.

kokane admits himself that the last meal album opened doors for him.

same as daz, if there was no dr. dre or snoop dogg, he wouldnt be where he was today.

BUT it is also obvious that snoop is kinda being snoop knight really. it happened with 213 album too, he didnt want warren-g to have production on album because he doesnt give %50 of his production royalities to snoop like others do. because of snoop's greed we listed to a 213 album without warren g production and 2 dogg pound albums without daz production.

Snoop always says Master P let him has his royalities %100 and let him be a boss while he doesnt have to do it. Snoop doesnt do the same thing for people around him.
