It's bought up because to an outsider Dre seems to have always had a helping hand from the start and solo productions throughout probably haven't charted as high as the ones that have other co-producers listed
World Class Wrecking Cru & NWA there was DJ Yella
Warren G, Quik, Daz, J Flexx etc during Death Row era
Budda, Glove etc during early Aftermath Era then MelMan Scott Storch
ICU era Focus Dem Jointz DJ Khalil etc
Not to mention every other top producer in hip hop saying they worked with Dre for Detox - Rza, Erick Sermon, Timabaland to name a few.
So unless you are in the studio actually observing Dre at work, most people will think that the producers bring the majority of the song to dre who embellishes them.
